I've released my Ark of the Covenant 3d Files

I’m printing the insert panels now

Also started printing the legs so I can try filling the middle with plaster and add strength to the rings

Are all your pieces lining up ok? My lid pieces are just a smidgen off. Not the end of the world.
Every lid section has to be sanded to flatten the sides. I glued all the top sections already and am gluing the bottom sections now. After they are all glued I intend on squaring them before adding the wood. I'm using gel glue so if there is a problem I can break the joint with a blade. I will epoxy the entire top and bottom leaves together after squaring them, then slide the wood inside for test fitting.

Yeah I've had to sand a few pieces down. Nothing major. Was just curious.

Looks great

I learned a lot about my new printer. I decided to sink the side panels in and I think it looks good that way. The intended way is apparently to have a picture frame around the insert that sticks out from the side. You noted that, when you were saying the wood part will be flush with the back of the insert.

Ima little confused to as why they're bumped out on the inside. I would think to just make the panels 3/4" like the MDF board being used to wrap it. Maybe them being bumped out on the inside of the Ark is more screen accurate is my guess. In that case. Bravo. Lol.

Im not sure yet which way im going to set those side panels. I'll cut the hole and see which way looks best i guess.
Yes, intended is you make the INSIDE of the chest smooth. Here's a pic of a commercially available 1/6 scale ark.
You can see the frame of the insert sticks out.

--------edit---------

Revised in a later message. The frame should NOT stick out. This replica is incorrect.
