Nice.

Hi folks,

just got an email from Florian !

He seems to be okay, but has a note of eviction hanging over his head, he writes that he has to clear out of his appartment by mid of this month, and will be homeless, if the social services won´t help him. That is a really tough one. So you can imagine what his financial situation looks like
ohwell.gif

The "bailiff" (sorry, didn´t find an appropriate u.s.english term for it) visited him, and he lost lots of his dvd´s. Seems there wasn´t anything else of value in his appartment.

He wrote that the props were all done, and that they were perfect.

Since there are a lot of people waiting for their stuff and he is apparently out of any money, and the shipping is not too cheap, I dared to suggest shipping to the european collectors first, namely nareem_salbo and Lemarchand.

It´s only a drop of water on a really hot stone, but I think that it is a start to turn this situation.

I´ll keep you all updated on this as soon as I hear something new.

If anyone receives their stuff, please post it here as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Michael

P.S.: @DarthViolence : Sorry, I couldn´t resist, and I have no doubt that you enjoy reading everything that the foreign board members post

A suggestion.

Find an RPF member who could visit Florian and pick up all items that are complete.

Ask those expecting stuff to pay additional shipping charge to allow this new person to ship the items.

I realize, shipping cost may have been paid to Florian already, But I would be willing to put out some more to get the item. Just not to Florian.

Volunteer?!?!?

Hey Mic,

thanks for suggesting this!

This came to my mind, but I expected an understandably negative reaction to asking for additional shipping money, especially from those who expect items in the 30,00 U.S.$-range.

The problem is, there is no one living nearer to Florian than me, and it is still approximately 450 km a distance, one way, from Munich to Vienna.
Making that 900 kms in total, approx. 90 Euros in fuel, plus the highway taxes for austria, approx, 10-15 Euros. I am a bit hesitant at the moment to spend any money in this. At the moment, mind you.

What I can do is to ask Florian to send everything to me in one big parcel, and then send everything out to you folks.

EDIT : Or he could send everything to me, then I send it out to someone in the states, from where it could then distributed to everyone on the board at a lower cost ? Anyone volunteering to probably doing this ? Any opinions on this ?

If the first shipping plan doesn´t work out, I´d jump the gun and hop on the car to drive down there. Maybe combine it with going skiing and hitting on those austrian skiing girls

.

I´ll wait for some response in this thread posted by parties involved until tomorrow, then I´ll send out pm´s and emails to the people on the list. The result will be posted here.

I'd gladly help by re-shipping items to people in the US, but I can't put the money out of my pocket to ship these in place of Florian. I'm afraid that involves more shipping money for non European residents.

Excellent idea, and many thanks to those considering offering the services.

In my case, the item I traded for the TMP comm was worth less than $40, so it wouldn't be worth it for me to send more cash unless it was, say, under $10 (unlikely).

So are we to assume that NONE of the props have been shipped? Even though I received an email on the 2nd of Jan stating mine had been sent (and still not received)?

Okay, so lets collect opinions on this until tomorrow evening, after that I will contact Florian to work everything out asap.

Since Treadwell is one of those with items for less than 50 US-$, I think it is safe assume that we´ll go the bulkshipping to The States route.

Keep those opinions coming.

@Ursus43 : Florian hasn´t sent us an update on specific shipments for some time now, so it is hard to say what really has been shipped. I´ll look into this.

Michael

I have some things up in the air with him...I'd like to work out a few details. Is he accepting emails?

Err, guys ? Kertratz ? Peter1701? I assumed that you didn´t get anything, so what are your opinions on the Bulk-shipping to the States at additional cost ?

I need a few opinions here, please

Thanks for looking,

Actually, all I want is my money back of $130.00 That sure cannot cost much to mail or process. Just reverse the charges to my paypal account...no effort at all!

Hey Mike,

I must say that I don´t think that Florian has any funds at all at the moment. It seems that he barely has enough money to get from one day to another. So it is safe to assume that any refunds are very unlikely to be made anytime soon in the near future. But I will address this. Please let me know what to do if he says he has your parts ready and we have worked out something on this bulk shipping to the States thing.

Thanks,

Michael

HEy folks,

just sent out PM´s to all on the list. Just as a backup if this didn´t work or I forgot someone, here is what I wrote :

Regarding Isaac_A_Steiner-project :

Hi there,

I am conducting a little questionnaire to get opinions on what to do next about getting all the stuff from Florian shipped safely to everyone who is still waiting for stuff.

This is a pm that is sent out to the folks that Markus and me know of, so please reply to this in the thread, and not via pm. Thanks.

In the thread http://rpf.prop-planet.com/viewtopic.php?topic=79074&forum=1&start=0

It was suggested to have everything shipped by Florian to one member who then would distribute everything to all members waiting for stuff.
Unfortunately this would involve additional shipping costs, since as in many similar cases, the seller, namely Florian, is completely out of money according to his description of his situation. To keep shipping costs down I suggested to have everything shipped to me first at a low european shipping charge (Austria to Germany). I would then either send everything out to the single members from Germany, or send everything in one big parcel to a trusted member in the U.S. who then could distribute the single pieces to U.S. members, again at a smaller shipping fee.

This scenario would involve the following benefits :
a) we would know the status for all missing pieces at once, I would take pics of everything and send those out immediately to the buyers
B) the additional amount of money that would have to be put in Florians hands would be minimized, I expect to send around 20 EUros for shipping to him
c)the additional cost for shipping within the U.S. should be smaller than individual airmail shipping from Europe to the U.S.

The risks that are involved are
a) once I have the stuff, I cannot do anything about the quality of it, e.g. sending it back for further improvements
B) the parcel could get lost on its way from Europe to the states, so noone gets anything (highly unlikely, will go for tracked shipping anyway, if possible)
c) I send him the money for shipping the stuff to me, and I am out of the money because I don´t receive anything, and we are all out of our money (I´d take that risk, and I think it is rather unlikely)

However, as I stated in the thread, I highly doubt that any refunds will be made in the near future due to Florians financial situation.

So, it is imperative to decide on what you want to do ASAP, since he is looking at getting evicted from his apartment, and I only can assume that it is rather very low priority to him to get any stuff out to anybody.

Another option would be for me to drive to vienna and pick everything up personally, but it is a 450km one-way drive, and would cost another 115-120 Euros of fuel and highway tax at the least, and I cannot do this in the next two weeks.

Please post what you specifically want me to do. To keep the thread readable (it seems that not everyone is checking on it regularly and if they check they read only the last two posts, if so at all) please post "Bulk order" and what you expect as an item from Florian (I know this has been done, but we don´t have this info from everyone).

Thanks for looking,

Michael

Michael

P.S.: I´ll send out emails with this to the listed folks later on, since not everyone is a regular on the board

As I said, bulk shipping seems the best solution IMHO I'm favorable to it...

As for the people who'd rather get a refund, since it doesn't seem possible, I suggest that once the big parcel gets to a single address in the US, the stuff is checked and people could put the stuff they no longer want for sale, and have it directly shipped from the single location at the "second hand" buyer's expanse... Seems fair, but the only thing is that the guy who will do the re-shipping will have a lot of trouble, and that person would be very kind to take charge of it.

I'm fine with the bulk order concept but not very hopeful. My comm was supposedly finished a LOOONG time ago. I don't expect to see it any time in the near or future but am hopeful.
Don

Go for the bulk order. No problem paying the extra shipping plus a % of the Austria to Germany cost.

Thank for doing this.
