As far as the topic itself goes... my gut tells me that the use of an SDS bucket in this pre sales flyer might have been a good ole "F you" to AA from MR. And, if so, it's nothing but amusing. The man certainly can't claim the high ground anyway.

However, that they used a photo of a collector's individual helmet (that can be easily verified & proven) without permission isn't so cool (though it may technically be legal). :$

Perhaps the higher Fett price point will be wonkey symmetry like the trooper. Or perhaps the lower Fett price point will be cheaper molded ears and rangefinder. Or perhaps both.

I really hope the weathered paint job turns out well on the Fett helmets. I'm skeptcal due to the manufactured nature, but the training remotes turned out pretty good so maybe it will work out.

It isn't really known if the advert that started this thread is full of MR pics... Just because some guy said he got them from MR, doesn't mean he did. I don't see why MR would do that? Let the flaming begin.

I for one can not wait. even if the price is alittle higher then what the flyer state. I know I will be pick up on of the LE Stromtrooper and a CE Fett.

You may well be right over the "F you", but if that is the case then imo they've shot themselves in the foot since they're misleading their customers by showing a different product - which is uncool.

I'm sure AA's laughing out loud at the competition using his own product in their promotions :lol

Yep, that's my helmet alright - and I took the photograph.

I'm still waiting for the royalty cheque though. They told me it was in the mail...

In any advertising, no matter what the medium or product, it's not legal to use someone else's photo without permission. It's Musashi's photograph that he has the rights to. It's immaterial that it's an SDS helmet or whether MR might think they have the rights to it, which they don't because it's not their product. This is a national campaign by MR so Musashi can sue for use of his image in their promotions without permission. It's simple copyright law....

Yea Bobadebt and I helped MR pre-sell $300,000 worth of trooper blasters using my gun. The photograph David took for me for my old website was used in the campagin and still shows up on ebay all the time.
