I am not allowed to share the files I'm using - I hope u understand. However, maxcrft is selling the files at etsy. You either have to wait until someone releases it for free or u buy it if u want it nowWhere can i get the foam pep files for thr forearm and gauntlet.?
Didn't have time this week so the update is very slow. Right knee has just been finished. On with the right shin..... View attachment 548887

No problem dude, I'm just giving ban what I learned from others [emoji39]I remember that post on the rpf! I just took a peek at the etsy page. Its not as pricey as I thought. I guess those extra details from D03D are worth the $200+??? lol.( seriously, the model does look nice though)
Anyways, I'm thinking on picking this up on etsy and trying some of the parts. I noticed from some reference art that the design usually sports a shorter and wider chest piece. From your notes I also realized that even if I scale, the upper chest wouldn't be as wide as needed to cover the torso because Helgak's piece is more square than it is wide. I like the slim profile of the helgak better, but the details on MZX/maxcrft seem a little more accurate. I'm still going to build some/all of Helgak's and maybe tweek some details with help from maxcrft maybe.
May I ask you, were the limbs the only builds you did from maxcrft's files or did you redo any of the torso from helgak's files? Also, did you have any issues when building the forearms or shins from maxcrft's files?
Oh man, I just realized I asked so many questions. I appologize if I'm inquiring about too much. I just want to get enough info before I proceed with any purchases or what my next step in my armor build will be.

You are right. I'm mainly using helagak's files. I'd recommend the do3d files (which is awesome btw) if you want to print it in 3d. It's so high poly that pepping it would take too much resources. But maxcrft is also selling the foam pdo which is easy to use while maintaining high details.
As far as my build is concerned, every file has been modified for my needs. There were some trimming, adding lines, connecting pieces before tracing on foam, etc. Also most of the edges where dremeled down to get an even fissure.
Here's an example before and after I trimmed off the torso and abs so it's sexier [emoji23]
