Star Trek TOS Data pad

I started this about 14 years ago, but it stalled because of a simple electronics solution.

Recently I found some LEDs that solved my issues.

The body is wood, I sourced a Magic Slate, and the 3 lights.
I had to convert the lights to accept the LEDs.
The back is ABS plastic held on with magnets.
The stylus is made of sheet styrene and filled with bakingsoda set with CA glue.

Isn't it call a data slate, at least non canonically?
I don't think it ever had a stated name on the show.
I could be wrong though.

I have heard it referred to as both "data slate" and "data pad"

To me data pad lines up with the padd in TNG and later.

Spectacular. Where did you find the stylus please
Thanks!

I made the stylus out of sheet plastic.
3 triangular strips cut and glued together.

Then lots of sanding and filling.

I made 2.
One hollow and one filled with baking soda and set with thin CA glue.

It was a long process but I think it turned out good in the end.
