Iron Man

i would be upset to if i were TMP. It is pretty sad when you work several hours on a beautiful work of art. and you offer it certain people and next thing you know they stole your work. He has every right to asking questions about someone who stole something from him.

I understand him being upset, he has every right to be. Why ask questions that were already answered though. He said that he had no idea that it had recast parts on it when he purchased it. Now that he knows I am sure he will be more cautious when buying. I just don't see the sense in asking questions that have already been answered. It seems someone TMP sold a suit to, either recast the pieces or allowed someone else to do so. Can't fault the guy for buying what looked like a nice suit without knowing where it had come from ya know.

My suggestion to TMP would be to talk to those that he has sold suits to and find out who allowed this to happen.

Is it wrong to ask about more information from who sold him the suit?
Maybe a name or an address from the box. because i can not find any info in this tread were or who this was bought from.

As for the neckseals, looks like they are directyl from us....

And whats is the conection with your son and our Ironman holding the teddybear at the convention you were at? The photo i reffer to is one of our first Ironman we made. That was a UK customer.

This just made me decide the TMP Ironman will get an overhaul..... We will make it far now... F the recasters.
Makeing money of other peoples work and to get just the cash...

If you did not know thats ok, but to honor the people who worked hard on some of those peices you should be honest and come clear who sold it. :unsure I think its totaly legit to reuest that if you want to be appart of a group of dedicated fans and artist who spend their money and time making these things come true.

But i just dont get this adding up.

This helmet is in your photo list. However this is painted....

Rubber and a glassfiber neckseal looks like it come directly from us..
The midsection and pants recast also from us, the helmet also another story.

Please I belive we all want to know more about this--- intresting.

the painted helmet is from me, which was bought directly from me so no issues there.

also, some of those pics are from the ebayer auction so maybe the fiberglass neck is the one SHE recast. yes, it looks like a lady recaster

The recaster is then somone over at the Superherohype.

I am sorry if am on this, but i want to know who i deal with and who to avoid.

again, the ebay seller is The_Master_Replicas_UK. In the auctions you can go to the photobucket and check out all of the pics. It does appear to be a woman. Michelle is the name on the photobucket. Its really not that hard to do. I think you are making out new member who was excited about a suit he purchased very uncomfortable here. He may not want to get into the middle of this.

I do suggest that sleeper come back in here and give his mind on the subject, wether or not he wants to give this persons information or not and why.

If someone stole something you worked over a year on everyday wouldnt you be a little upset. Info is needed. Especially in this case. There is something fishy about the photos on his/her photobucket.

I am 100% with TMP on this topic. The name and the return address on the package would be nice to know for future sellings that TMP does.

painted helmet i bought from fettster as a display piece, the one i am painting came with my kit from the ebay seller UK master replicas. You can go on ebay Jon and see their auctions and contact details if you wish to get in touch with them directly. Michelle is the contact name I have and is the name you are asked to contact on ebay.

some of the pics of the kit I posted are from the seller eg the fibreglass neckseal, the one I received is silicon.

The pics of my son in his clone kit with your early kit TMP was taken at an EXPO here in the UK, my son wanted to troop in his kit at a proper event for the first time. The guy in the kit is a member of a costuming club over here called the Galactic Legion, he is actually from Northern Ireland and only came over for the event pictured. As far as I am aware he has nothing to do with the ebay seller I got my kit from.

As I have said before, I did not know when I bought the kit that it was made up of any recast parts. I personally apologised to Russ when I found out that it was his lid they have copied, and I apologise to you to Jon as I was not to know that some of the kit was cast from yours either.

I'm sorry to have caused waves here, it was never my intention, I am just excited about having this kit, even though I'm only just finding out it's heritage!

Sleeper your reply clears allot of things for us. I just wanted that cleared.
I am most upsett and the person who got hold of our stuff..... So i was afraid it was the Irish people we sold it to who was your source. If they are not connected then that makes me need to dig deeper to find out who it is. My best way to solve who "stole" our work is your knowlege and information.

  • Do you know what area, city, region the package came from.
  • Do you have an email address
  • Do you have a contact phone number
These people stole other peoples work.

I dont want to hand over upgraded parts to these BIP BIP BIP recasters.

In Superherohype its a woman apperently casting a new helmet" But the neckseal is like the one on the statue. The parts they say they sculped is from the statue.

I don't get people like this (the recasters). Assuming the helmet sculpt shown in the photobucket account is Legit, they seem to know how to sculpt, and aren't awful at it. They also do a reasonable job of making good castings (albeit by molding the work of others). So why not just sculpt their own stuff and sell that. I realize it would mean they would actually have to do some ore work, but then they wouldn't be alienating such a large portion of their desired customer base.

Presumably this is largely a copyright issue, so the copyright owner should be able to instruct eBay to remove the auctions and eventually ban the user if they persist...?

How about Marvel?

But likewise if you take this issue up with the copyright owner E.G. Marvel, then TMP will also be in trouble as he has profited from the Ironman image without their consent. I'm sure TMP informed Marvel of his work but I'm sure they would never agree to him profiting from their image rights by selling his kit across the world (unless they were getting their slice of the profits!)

Excellent point, that makes perfect sense. Yea, why not? If they got the skills?

Just tell Marvel them that someone is ripping off a Marvel license holder - i.e. OXMOX, or tell OXMOX someone is ripping them off so they can have the eBay auctions removed.

It's really no different to me going out and buying an officially licensed 12" Iron Man figure from a toy shop, recasting it and selling them. In this case someone has recast an officially licensed statue of Iron Man - but it's still a case of someone making fake goods / copyright infringement.

Yea but that does happen as well. All the bootleg Action figures out there are crazy. I see them in outlet stores all the time. Packs of figures with Pink Batman's and green Spider-man's along with Power Rangers they just re-name them is all.

Hopefully this whole thing comes to an end and this guy stops. They can clearly sculpt, I guess this is just easier for some.

Well Michelle told me they got a licence to sell the Ironman statues. She also told me she had one statue in their office. So a licence holder have given them licence to sell their items for them to rip them off and make it them self and resell? Well i cant say thats the fact. She even claimed the armor they make is not cast of the statue and has no resemblence to the statue..... YEA RIGHT! :rolleyes

To just make it clear, its different to recast of a licenced piece were the licence holder have paid allot of money to have the licence to make that particilur prop.Or for other people to recast directly off some others artistic work. VS a sculptor who spends allot of time making it from scratch. Its a big cost and time issue and the artistic side that is difference.

Most of what i saw was thing they had NOT made from bottom and up.
Michelle also admitted to copy the Halo directly of the Oxmox Statue.
Among their Predator helmets was , Pete Mander, Robosteve, and licenced pieces.

They sole intent is not artistic pride or artistic challange... Its pure proffit on behalf of others work, investments and time.

I think that Lucas Art made a good point on their case in UK and their official statment towards people like in the 501st and their artistic creativity. It draws a line, its not easy to se but if people are logic and understand it then its big difference .
