Thanks fingaz. I'm also building one (feels like everybody does ) and am currently in the bondo/sanding phase of my chest piece. But I know nothing about this stuff

I have two questions for you:

- What tool did you use to cut those lines on your chest piece? (I mean the ones you later weathered with the black stove polish)

- Did you wetsand your parts? What exactly is wetsanding for? Is it important?

got a few more helmets done and arc finished.

had a visit from robosteve yesterday nice to see him,very inspiring

flapped back on hold for moment,due to strapping the suit up cause today it was time for a visit from daz(known him that long we're as good as related):loln his missus.

for the detail lines i used a bradawal,needle file.
the parts were all wet sanded during finishing flatting the primer stages,it acts like a lubricant,allows you to sand wthout the paper clogging n flow better.

after seeing a load of inanimate pieces sat round for so long.
then to see it almost there and suited up the feeling was such a bloody buzz.undescribeable.
ive restored classic cars,sports cars etc over the years,but this beats em all
to see daz's reaction was priceless

no everything is to standard scale.

: although

the cod/abs were far too small,and 2 inch strips were added to each side,and 1 inch to the rear,added to widen it a total of 5 inches.

due to the size increase,i then added 1.5 inch to each side of chest/back creating a extra 3 inch circumference,which maybe wasn't needed,although he say its quite comfortable.

simples
2 nuts and bolts in each,a bit of loctite.then hide it with the silver disc.
pivots finethumbsup

had final test fit today gettin ready for weekend repulsors wired,eyes lit and final bits of strapping done.feet n hand flaps left to fit.

iron daz is now about ready to gothumbsup
