Iron Man MK VI - Foam patterns

I took a look and I am obviously missing something. I have already started a foam build using the regular PEP files but there are a lot of joins. How do these files differ, i have just downloaded a couple but there still seem to be a lot of cuts that have to be made in the foam and as such i will end up with as many joins. If i don't make the cuts then will i not just end up with a very flat low detailed suit? I probably need to start a build thred.

I am playing with theses templates to finish my foam Iron Man I started. I used it for the lower body so far. I will upload some pictures. soon.

GlenTech yes the legs were made of your patterns in the first post. It is a lot more simple to do it without the lining and edges...

I tried the same thing with the upper body but it was a learning process. I will finish this but I am going to do one similar with the same parts but with metallic fabric red

I have build the foam chest with out problem, It turned out like it has to. Not flat, with details..
The cuts in the pieces has to be made else the pieces will not correctly fit together. WARNING: some of the pieces has to be 'custom' modified. Use the pepakura 3d-model always as a reference point.

Ah ok. I think i will stick with building it in many pieces as this is how I have started and I will just figure a way to hide the joins afterwards. I need to make the foam look more metallic anyway, I am going to test out some ideas on that tonight.

I've found HD gloves (original from warmachine but is the same as those from Iron Man) Zabana released the files. The 3d model is MUCH better and nicer. My advice would be don't start with my hand palm, fingers and wait till I get a foam unfold of it.

will be waiting impatiently for this, lol

these are pretty good patterns. I am ok with the pep work but I am very impatient. That is why my build is with fabric for the color instead of the painting and waiting. everything is going well and the joints in the legs are great. everything fits amazingly. I had the most trouble with the feet due to me using thicker foam. But, with a few adjustments and some freehand work on the toe I will be good. I also am going to add the heel to the foot they are not in the compressed files. I will share pics tomorrow.

I use sandpaper or a foot file to sand the glue away that is seen between the joints. Oh ye a use also tape to tape both pieces together (not just a few pieces but all over the length) and then I bend the pieces so there exist a gap and I fill it up with glue and press them back together.

This maybe not explained correctly but use a little fantasy :D.

When you paint it do you not still see the joins? This is the issue I have is that i see joins where it should be a flat surface as I just used the un-modded dancing fool files and cut each section out of foam and glued them together.

I have the whole top section done this way now right down to the cod with just the legs left to do. This has taken me a week but if i have to restart again with your foam files as that is the only way to hide all the joins i might have to do it. I may attempt to bono what i have before i trash it all and start again. :cry

Thanks for the reply.
