Iron Man Mark I Chest Piece?

What are the chances of getting this as a kit so that we can do our own wire wrapping? Wouldn't be hard, and would save you a frakload of time.

Well, the problem with that is I could end up coming up with a method of putting one together that I didn't think of before this and end up saving a bunch of time. Not none yet but I'm always looking for quicker methods.

( I can't spell to save my life today, doesn't this website have spell check?)

Loving the step by step pics! Very interesting to see how you work. :)

I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing the final assembly.

Rick, awesome! You had me on the first post.

We should try to find a source for the acrylic display case & base to match the movie prop, unless Rick has a lead on that already. Rick are there measurements for the display case on the blueprints too? We could use brushed aluminum contact paper on the acrylic base if metal is not available for this from someone.

Rick, are you doing those CAD wireframes? If so, in what program?

Double post button, that's funny. I just stutttterrr when I type that's all. I don't know why that happened.

The picture you posted. The green tinted ring looks to me that it was poured out of green resin as a whole piece. Each copper wrap that covers the ring is very tightly fitted , why I think it's a solid pour and painted to the scheme. The movie had those rings behind the center being silver not brass colored. If you also notice that the green colored ring is very rough and square. The picutes I've seen is made up of two pieces and rounded edges. I don't know where you got that image but I have yet to see a true finished Movie shot of it with the lights turned off.

OK what are these 2 images from. ( only saw the movie 1 time but I don't remember seeing 2 versions of this prop in a display case like that . I only remember seeing the one on the top picture. Whats the bottom one? the one without the wording around the edges?

Helder

I don't think the lower picture is the top one at all. Two different units. Look at the arrangement of the three spoke piece in the center. Its off by 10 15 degrees to the left. Those are capasitors! Your right. No capasitors in the CAD file I have made.

Correct. I believe the bottom pic was a different production piece that was displayed at a Con/Press Event.

Yeah, those are Electrolytic capacitors. Can't see the values, though. But it seems the negative side are facing anti-clockwise. (Light blue bar with dar blue rectangles)
