I use GI 1000 silicone. It comes in different colors, one of them being transparent. Since I only had blue catalyst it looks different. The other silicone was white. All the same properites. The nice thing about having clear silicone mold material is the abilitly to see the pour and any troubles can be corrected while the material has yet to set. But with proper venting that is rarely a problem. You always have some kind of clean up to do. I put all my pours in a pressure chamber and so the bubbles are small. Especailly when you have small intricate pieces that could trap air bubbles.
When you start the official interest thread, don't forget I already said I'm in for one of these a few pages back! I haven't been this pumped for a project in years.
i agree with Trooper. This is one of the most exciting projects I've ever seen here. Thanks so much for sharing the in-progress pics. This is truly awe-inspiring. If there's a "LIST," please put me on it. Thanks! :thumbsup
I have been asked by Paramount Pictures in Norway to promote their Ironman DVD release. They also are in talk with Audi and they will bring their high end sportscars and suvs. I also act as Tony Stark and i have been told that i will be driving the R8 up to the red carpet.... I think this prop whould be a great thing to have at the stand. The show is 19-21th this month, is this doable. Please contact me ASAP?
I am just in Awe of your mold making ability. Those are perfect molds...I don't see any pour holes or anything. Truly a professional. I wish you were here in LA so I could see how you think those molds out !!
