I screwed up the silver paint job, going to redo that later.

I have more parts done that I have yet to take pictures of so, I'll just wait till it's done.

Here are pics of the build process:

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

What color shades are you using for the red and gold. Looks good so far!

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

Duplicolor Toreador Red Met (FL)
and the Gold is VHT heat resistant paint that just looks gold.

Got them at auto zone

Wonderful! Thanks man! Keep up the good work. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the build.

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

Those are yoga mats? do you know what thickness and material? (polyester foam?) When you built this did you score and hinge the major joints or glue the edges? I'm considering making a simpler version and this looks like a simple enough method that I could work with. I can't wait to see the rest - if you took some pics of your assembly process that would be fantastic!

They're these athletic weight room flooring things that you can get at a sporting good's store like 'Big 5'. Each one is about 29 sq ft and 2 rolls can make up an entire suit. I'm not sure how thick they are.

I post pics tomorrow of the process I do to build it.
You just print out the foam templates and trace them onto the foam. Cut the pieces out and hot glue them together and you're done.

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

I'm building this right now and am looking forward to seeing your progress and any tips and tricks you can share too!

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

any reason for the quick build?

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

ah. cool. Didn't know if it was for an upcoming con or something

na, I'm not into cosplay conventions

EDIT UPDATE: I just finished the arms, going to start on the dreaded abs. They look like they're going to take a while...so weak dude...lame! :confused

I did a con really early on. Honestly, before I was ready to. The experience was...not the greatest. People can be rather rude.

Anyhow, I digress, didn't mean to derail.

The build looks great!

Are you doing straight up piece to piece seems or using a modified template to do fewer cuts?

I really like the mark 7.

Hows about the helmet?

I'll post pics of the helmet on sunday, I hope to be finished with the suit by then.

I paint the other parts as I'm building the new parts

Left to do:
Wed-Cod/Hips
Thur-Thighs
Fri-Shins
Sat-Boots/Hands
