I'm not sure that's a good idea.. foam and filler do not bond well. The foam is smooth enough already anyways. Unless you mean you want to fill in some of the cracks... I guess you could try that but it will be difficult.

It's kinda of throwing away the concept of a soft foam suit that you can comfortably wear if you're going to harden it.. just sayin.

They actually made foam versions of the suit in the movies(not this way of course, but it was casted with foam material)

u should take a look at Xrobot's method, its just amazing, pva glue as sealer and another stuff as hardener
also from this method, baden is using pva glue as well for sealin and rondo for smoothing and hardening.. result is just really cool
hope this helps

Re: Iron Man Mark 7 [FOAM] - 7 Day Build

Hey there,

It's my first time building an iron man suit as well out of foam, I'm from Perth, W.A, i bought some 3mm EVA foam from Clark Rubber, it's grade is 75, I tried to make the forearm but it came out retarded, did you have to heat up each piece and then shape it or did it naturally shape as you put the pieces together?

Cheers.

Update:!

Nearly assembled. Boots and hands are being painted at the moment. Joints/neck still need to be made.
