Iron Man Mark 45 3D Modeling

I tried contacting Do3D before, shame it's taken so long for any real attention to be brought to it. I have mentioned the shady nature of inspiration several times.

Do3D, if I purchase your file directly from you, is it ready for 3D printing without any modifications? I am completely new to 3D printing, so I don't know how to make any changes or modifications, even if they are simple. I've read on this thread that you need to "slice" the files so that they're ready for printing. So that would require additional work? Thanks!

You need to slice and scale the size to you

For the scaling, most people on here including myself mainly use Netfabb. Its free and it allows you to scale, mirror, cut, repair etc.

I'm not very familiar or good with any kind of technical programs, even as simple as photoshop, let alone 3D modeling software. Is Netfabb something that a rookie like me can pick up easily? Or is there a steep learning curve? Thanks!

You can pick up Netfabb very easily. Its mostly click to select, choose a command, and very self explanatory. The hard part comes in learning which way to slice for support free prints etc - if you arent au fait with these programs however, do you actually have a printer?

@tes INSPIRATION got banned from this forum.
Many members from the RPF contacted me and apologized for being involved in the group purchase.
So I honored the file for personal use only.
This may sound unfair to those who purchased the file directly from me but these people are only given a personal license that they can print one copy for themselves.
If they want to sell the printed props to their clients, they will have to buy a commercial permission/license again from me.

The problem I had with Inspiration is that he kept lying and did not admit what he has done.
1. He said that he purchased the file from the guy in UK.
- He purchased the file directly from me.
2. He said he only sold the file to those who were involved in the group purchase.
- A few additional individuals who (non-RPF members) emailed me and sent me the paypal receipt that they have paid to him.
3. It was pretty easy to look him up on the internet. He denied that it is him.
- He closed his personal website and social network sites.
4. He sent me a small payment via Paypal to make it seem like we found a resolution.
- He has opened a dispute over PayPal.

I know he's real name and other details but I decided not to share with the public but if I notice him doing any unauthorized activities in the future, he will be in a serious trouble.

NOTE: Thank you everyone for bringing my attention to this issue and providing me all necessary information to get more details about INSPIRATION.

@Do3D so is this all sorted now

Im glad you have at last sorted this guy out lets hope its last we see of him . On the issue of selling printed props for those of us that purchased directly from you we need to also buy additional licence dont intend to but just to be clear on that thanks

No additional license has to be purchased for those purchased directly from me.

It applies to those who made the payment to INSPIRATION and received the file.
Basically, I let them keep the file to print their own armor. They can also freely share the pics of their in-progress images or videos on the internet.
But if they want to make money by selling the printed props to others, they will have to get my permission.

I hope this makes everything clear now.

I have a question, what if someone buys the files from you and makes a pepakura unfold file, is it OK to distribute the unfold?

Dont think he will allow that because someone can convert the pep file to 3d print it thus sharing which is not allowed personal use only [emoji106]

I think I have to create a separate thread for answering your questions regarding my licensing terms :)

@markseven it will not be allowed because it is still a derivative work of mine. The IP of the digital artwork still belongs to me even if you change the geometry. If you want to distribute the file, simply create your own lowpoly model from scratch and do so. Or you can contact me to create a Pepakura file for a group of people. I am open to a group commission but the split commissions must be sent to Do3D not someone else. In this way, we will know who are the licensed to use the file.

3D modeling for pepakura takes less time than subdivision modeling. If you love this community and would like to give away the file to everyone for FREE, I am sure you will find your time to create your own and share.

I am also planning on sharing a few freebies to this community in the future.

The problem is that I don't I don't have the programs and the capability to unfold it for myself. I just want to have the foam files so I can start to build it for personal use. I'd even pay for the foam files if necessary
