Is it possible for us to buy the model?

So is everyone paying full price now for the files ?

Inspiration is supposedly going as a go between between us peons and the guy who owns the 3D file. However, his activities are suspicious, he will not give out the file owners contact information and charges ever increasing prices for the file. Seems like he is simply reselling the file he owns, as previously mentioned in this thread. I've asked him about it several times and have asked for the owners email several times, all of which he has ignored.

I have been offerd these at full price while others have paid varing amounts at the begining dont want yo get into a big debate over this but doesent seem fair paying full whack

Have you checked any of the sites like CG Trader or Turbo Squid? You may be able to find the author that way, since you have the model you may be able to recognize it.

The one i got from cgtrader is useless couldnt do nothing with it no matter what program i used got so frustrated with it i have finally deleted the files the meshes were so messed up even blender wouldnt open it kept crashing on me anywho back to drawing board lol

Inspiration has pretty much killed this thread, charging random prices for a file that was made by someone else. 3 of my friends and I each got different quotes on the price of the file he is selling, ranging from $75-$150. Didn't think this forum was about making money off other people's work...

Has anyone reported this to the mods? And has anyone managed to confirm whether or not he was doing this with or without the original author's permission? I highly doubt someone would sell their model, but be okay with one of their customers re selling it. After all, doesn't that take sales away from the original author?

He claims to be giving all the money from all sales to the author............okay.

Hello all,

It's my first time at RPF.
My name is John and I am the guy who designed the Mark 45 which can be found on turbosquid.

RPF seems like a really great community and I am looking forward to building a lot of great relationships with other prop makers.

I got to know about RPF because one of my friends have reported that the user INSPIRATION has been selling my models without my permission.
It is quite surprising because I never allow anyone to resell or distribute any part of my items. The license is good for a person who purchased it directly from us (Do3D).

If there is anyone who purchased my model from INSPIRATION, could you please contact me and let me know? You may send me a PM or reply to this thread.
(I am warning INSPIRATION and other members who have been selling and spreading my file without my permission to stop the activity immediately and contact me for resolution.)

It looks like many of you who purchased my model from him are already in the process of printing the props...
I will start looking into it... but one thing to remember.. modifying the geometry of my model does not make it yours. The IP still belongs to me unless you create everything from scratch.

He sent me the PM and told me that he purchased the model from someone else and did not know that it was mine..
But he lied. We are still talking but he sold my file to 11+ people and to many different countries.
Thankfully, the users of RPF sent me the PMs, paypal receipts and other proof... I will keep you posted on what's going on..
