Buton batterie is better i think, but Dont know How to connect That to THE led strip. Going to contact therealtonystark what hè uses to activate THE arc with magnet

You mentioned needing 24v to power this thing.
If that is correct, direct your favorite search engine to look for a size 'A23 battery'. I believe they are made from a stack of button cell batteries.
It is about half the size of a AAA and runs 12v, so two would give you the required 24v and be no larger than a AAA.

Attached image A23* battery on a CD with a standard 9v.
*(Duracell calls it the MN21/23)
 
Have you thought of using AMOLED tech? Touch Screen Film, Glass Touch Screen, Touch Film, Touch Foil | Rear Projection Screen Solutions

I know it's expensive, but it would basically just give you a see-thru touchscreen with a USB hookup... though you may have to write your own software if you wanted to go that route. (I wonder if you could cut to size, or get a piece custom cut... :confused)

Other than that suggestion, just wanted to say its a nice looking replica of the keyboard so far. I hope you manage to get it to work. :)
 
Realtonystark is going to finish it. I dont know anything about electronics so sold the plate to him hope he can do more with it than me.
 
Great job. I started to make one of these from my own design a while back. You've inspired me to revisit. Mine is a querty keyboard inspired by Tony's :cool

Started work on the handles. I'll be 3D printing them soon, and if they turn out, I'll collaborate with this glass expert and make them available to the public. :)
 
BUMP and follow up.

Tripped over this thread and have to say - you have done an excellent job in recreating the base keyboard!

I might be able to shine some light on the keyboard design, background as I was one of the contractors that worked on this prop and like everyone else on this thread - I fielded similar questions related to the tech from the studio and asked a lot about the initial design concept and the finished result.

Curious to see how the design is coming along for you and the others that having been giving it a go.

Other than that feel free to ask a question or two about the tech.
