Iron Man COSTUME : New pictures page 8

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not even close to TMP quality)

TMP

A comment from you is like a solid shot in the arm :thumbsup Thanks my friend. If you ever manage to get over to North America try to schedule it around a Con. Dragon Con is the only 1 in the US I will make it to this year, next year ...? But if you can make it to that one drop me a note. Be cool to see our suits side by side....although mine will look more like the country cousin to your GQ suit but still would be a good shot !

More pics in a week or so gang
:)

I like your design. It gives it your own touch and interpetation. Also its looking very comic style and i like it. Tony did not only make one armor.. He got a bunch and that armor you got looks like one he whould make.
Will you have yours for the premiere?

Yah in this one shot, the armor looks very Civil War-ish. I may still make some changes, but after the back is redone I will likly leave it for a while. Doing some work on the abb section as well to make it harder in places, but thats it. So still finishing- New Back section. Butt Plate. Abb plates. Gauntlets / hands ( these are turing out incredible they will make the whole suit)

Regretably as I wanted to have the suit look as best as possible, with the changes I am not going to be ready for the premier. My completion date is looking to be Mid to late May 15-20. Had I not decided on the changes itwould be ready. But the back and the hands were not as good as they could have been so went for a better look. I know you of all people understand that as to the helmet design you worked on. Sometimes you just have to keep at it till your 100% happy with it. Thats how this was for me.

Even with missing the premier, I have the suit allready booked into a few charity events out this way, so it wont be sitting idle for very long. We have a charity event here on May 28th, that will be the suits first live field test as it were :)

Again my friend, want to say thank you to you in an open forum. Had you not posted up your progress pictures, I doubt I would have taken this project on. I did not have enough reference material so untill I saw those pictures of yours I had nothing to go on. For some reason Stan Winston never returned my phone calls asking to borrow the his blue prints, I am sure he just must have been out of town or something. :lol:lol

(kidding :))

Again sir, thanks for your comments and words of support on this, as I said, coming from you it means a lot. :thumbsup

( Full front, yup has a civil war look to it )

Another awesome Iron man suit. Very cool!
You and TMP are really setting the costume bar high.:thumbsup

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 4

I absolutely love this armour, yes it is very Civil War and for me that is the best design, really impressive :thumbsup

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 4

Outstanding work - I wish I had one quarter of your creative skills.

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 4

Thanks guys.

TMP beat me ! :lol Iwas shooting for havingit ready for the premier but due to some changes I wanted to do, it put me behind a month. TMP I will send you your dollar soon :lol

I should have some more test pics up in a few weeks, my completion date now is May 15-20th.

Great to see the comments from you guys, means a lot. :thumbsup

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 4

Great job on the armor. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 4

Thanks gang. Will post up some more parts pictures later tonite. Going to take a note from TMPs page though and not showany partial test shots till it is all done up, will spoil it if I do that .

I have learned from The Master Showman TMP change your handle to TMS, works better for you :lol:thumbsup

Again thanks team, I am now very very proud of how it looks. Differnt from TMP, although I have to thank him for al lthe pictures I stole...er borrowed :lol But even though it is not an exact movie version it is going to look very good when complete. My wife saw me in the 90% completedand painted suit and alsmot fell over. Trick is, she is not into costumes or uniforms, does not do a thing for her. She saw this and was speechless, and just stared, so will take that as a good sign.

Said it was the most imposing yet captivating thing she had ever seen. Again from her, this means a lot to me, also means most of you should also like it ( I hope? ) when you next see the full completed suit.

More partial stuff later.:)

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 6

Iam taking a note from TMP, as to not showing anymore test shots till it is all completed. Here are a few more shots however of some finished painted parts. In keeping with the theme of less is more, we have kept thegold down to a minimum. Similar to how the movie and comic traditional color schemes seem to have been done up. Again the color seems to work well with this armor, very happy with how the gold came out.

Note still completing te New Back. Hands / Gauntlets. Butt Plate. Also the Abbdominal area is geting a redo adding in more plate type armor. Looking very good so far. Will add more pictures in a bit.:)

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 6

Sweet. Like the color choice you did. This will look great once worn.
May i come with a suggestion for future improvments when it comes to wearability.

The plates on the top of the legs. Hip plates. If you remove them from the legs and atach them on straps to the mid section armor or glue them on to a sheet of leather / material they will hang in possition all the time. It will also alloe you to move your legs sideways / \
It will give you allot more freedom.

hey TMP

I agree that would have offered up more movement. However although you have not seen my test fits yet, but with the change I did have done to the knee area I obtained a lot of added movement.

When I post completed shots and a U-tube clip. ( I am learning from you I swear :) ) I will show how I can sit, move run jump and !!! get down on all 4s and do push ups. I did lose some side to side movement but very little overall. Not much to hinder me with at least.

But I am sure I will never be finished so will likly revisit this part of the leg and possibly the whole leg assemble again in the future.

Thanks my friend. :thumbsup

Gang, as well, thanks for the comments.

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 6

WOW... I whould love to se that :)
The design thats our suit is more limited. Its no way i can sit down as for now. On a bar stol yes. But not on a reular.

And doing pushups... heheh my god.. Wearablity is important. glad you got it together :)

Re: Iron man with a twist ( not TMP quality) New pics page 6

Well my friend, I send a lot of praise your way, deservedly, your progress pics helped out more than you know. I knew if the leg could be attached at the knee, like your movie armor, it would increase my mobility dramatically and it did. I did lose like I said a bit of side motion with my leg but overall minimal. The pay off was the range of motion I had for my hips and knees.

The only thing that is a bit awkward is getting onto the ground, geting back up is a lot easier as I use the ridgidity of the suit to almost help me getting back up. Hard to explain but it works, its almost like I just push back in the armor and it helps to stand up. Weird way of saying it but it works. I would not want to do it a lot as it is hard on all the fittings and bolts.

Sitting was the one thing I most wanted to do. Having been an unable to sit as a Stormtrooper for years, it is nice to be able to wear some armor but be able to grab a seat now and again. Note I need a harder type chair. If I sat on like a soft lounge chair or a couch I would never get up again :lol
