Iron Man 3

I love the fact that Guy Pearce and Ben Kinglsey are in this! The trailer looks pretty freakin' excellent too.

Aw, yiss.

So from the scene with Tony wearing a headset and mic with the Mark VIII standing powered up behind him, I'd venture to say that he's working on remote controlling the suit(s).

And when Pepper is attached in bed by the Mark VIII and Tony is asleep, I'd also bet that his mind and the suit are some how connected....perhaps the suits are destroyed because Tony wants to protect himself and his world from an experiment gone awry?

The brief scene with Tony in the operating room leads me to wonder if he's trying to move on with his life and get away from the arc reactor in his chest...

...I bet Mandrin or whatever his name is gets mind control over the Mark VIII (over powers Tony perhaps) and that's why we see Tony being attached by it...

Lastly, there's also a very brief screen of a new woman thrusting Tony up against the wall and about to kiss him...perhaps a new love interest???

The suit is protecting him. If you watch closely in the bed scene. Pepper rolls over and puts her hand on tony and the suit comes flying in and gets in her face

Looks like they have adapted the Sentient Armor from the comics. From Wikipedia

Renaissance Armor ("Heroes Return")/Sentient armor
First Appearance: Iron Man (vol. 3) #1 (February 1998)
Fresh upon his return from the "Heroes Reborn" universe, Tony constructed this armor which served as a new beginning, combining cutting-edge technology with classic lines. The armor possessed energy-absorption strips, as well as a "horned" faceplate, reminiscent of the first red-and-gold armor, and a pentagonal chest beam. Its most useful feature was a completely self-contained life support system, allowing Tony to completely cut himself off from the outside world while relying on food pills and the armor's own internal atmosphere if he was in a hostile environment, a feature that came in particularly useful when he was abducted by the Brood to participate in a contest against other heroes, the armor's internal life support allowing Tony to escape infection by the mood-altering nanites the Brood were using to keep the heroes too aggressive to consider their situation in depth long enough to develop a means of curing his allies.[8]

This armor eventually achieved sentience due to Tony downloading Jocasta into the armor- thus corrupting the usual failsafes Tony had installed to prevent such an occurrence happening as Jocasta unintentionally infected the armor with the 'Ultron Imperative', a system that would cause Ultron's creations to rebuild him if he was ever destroyed-, lightning strikes sustained during a fight with Whiplash providing the necessary 'nudge' to push the armor into full sentience based on Tony's own mind. Although the armor's new tactical abilities made it far more efficient than previous armors, able to evade attacks based on past experience with opponents, its lack of human morality caused it to kill Whiplash in its 'test drive', subsequently becoming increasingly obsessed with merging with Tony so that they would become Iron Man on a permanent basis (on a more practical note, it also suffered from a power supply problem as it ran down its batteries at a far more rapid rate due to the energy required to sustain its sentience). Although it attempted to kill Tony in a final confrontation on a deserted island, when Tony suffered a heart attack, it reverted to its default programming, sacrificing its own central power source to help sustain Tony's heart. It was later salvaged by the 'Sons of Yinsen'- a cult who followed Ho Yinsen- to use as a host for Yinsen's brain, only for Ultron to take control of the armor before it was destroyed for good.

the last scene where "Iron Man" was getting dragged by debris into the ocean looked Iron man being too vulnerable. I have a feeling that's Pepper Potts 'cause you can sense the feeling whoever is in the suit doesn't seem to know how to operate it (like scrambling when it's getting dragged?). 'Cause I know if that was Tony, he'll try to blast/boost his way outta there. And that one part where the suit have Tony on the ground, it's either the suit saved Tony and then Tony deployed the suit to save (in this case get on) Pepper, or Pepper had the suit on and saved Tony. Pepper having the suit on will finally round off the "Rescue Armor" part of this story arc.

I have doubts that Pepper will ever dawn the suit herself. But I agree in reflection that the scene with Tony being rescued by the Mark VIII....but if that's the same scene as the one with if plummeting to the bottom of the ocean...I wonder which scene actually comes first!

This is a look of absolute terror if you ask me:

My guess would be that there's foul play at work here...

And a quick Wiki search availed that the other woman (at 59 seconds in the trailer) is probably Maya Hansen an old flame of Tony's and colleague of Aldrich Killian whose being played by Guy Pearce.

Possible plot/character spoiler warning - don't Wiki Aldrich Killian.

I'm a fan of the Helper Robot who apparently knocked off one of the heads and is being punished with a dunce cap.
