It's made of Unobtanium, weighs practically nothing, essentially the weight of foam rubber, so Tony sinks into the sofa no more or less than he does normally.

Does it bother anyone that the Mandarin isn't asian? I mean, Kingsley is great and all, but when reading the comics when I was young he always struck me as more asian...

If you read the comics then you should know that The Mandarin is half-British. :facepalm

Does it bother anyone that the Mandarin isn't asian? I mean, Kingsley is great and all, but when reading the comics when I was young he always struck me as more asian. Plus, his ongoing relationship with fing fang foom (that dragon thing)seem to all point more to the asian culture.

Short answer is, Marvel Studios and Disney were never going to green light the movie with a Chinese Mandarin. China is currently the biggest box office growth opportunity, Marvel/Disney wanted some Chinese representation to cater to those audiences, and there was no way in hell the China Film Group would've ok'd a very Chinese looking villain when Marvel Studios is looking to film in their country.

I like Ben Kingsley and even though he's not Chinese, he can pull off the ethnic vibe and they want the MCU Mandarin to be representative of a mix of foreign cultures. Dude played Gandhi, he's going to be brilliant in this role.

Anyone have a feeling that the shot shown at the beginning of the trailer takes place near the end of the movie? When he pulls off the mask, he has a sort of triumphant look on his face.

Or Tony got drunk, went to Pepper's place in the middle of the night while she was fast asleep, she woke up and is panicking because she wasn't expecting her boss to be there, in full suit and waking her from a deep sleep.

Except Tony is asleep next to her. My guess is he's having a nightmare and the suit is reacting (extremis, mind control)

That minigun always bothered me. There's no place for the ammo to be stored that wouldn't be used up in a 1/5 second burst of fire. The new weapon on his back looks like it might be energy based, which with an Arc reactor at least makes sense.

This is covered somewhere... Might be in the "art of" book. Basically the designers had the same concern. Their answer was "hopefully no one will ask". Basically, you're spot on

I'm a fan of the Helper Robot who apparently knocked off one of the heads and is being punished with a dunce cap.

Apparently at Comic Con, that scene was shown. The damage is from parts of the new Mk 47 suit missing Tony and rebounding off other things. Of you look to the left you'll see damage elsewhere.

I think that's very plausible. Also, I'd love to know the name of the song that plays around that time, if anyone knows the name.... it might be apart of the score though, so I may have to wait

I believe that scene is due to the helicopters blowing the hell out of his house. I very much doubt Tony would destroy his own suits in that manner.

Yes, I know he did in the comics but I doubt we'll be going that route in IM3.

Apologies for multiple posts... Just a bit excited by all this Im3 talk

The Iron Patriot armour is stolen (comics) Extremis tech... It shouldn't be War Machine. The armour is too similar here to Tony's to be a simple upgrade. However, this is Hollywood so lord knows what the real case is!

Edit: hadn't seen the posts showing Rhodes name on the Iron Patriot chest... interesting!
