Iron man 3 Mk39 Gemini sub orbital suit <pep files are done> WIP

IMIM2 can I ask how big your head is in inches?
Was just wondering because I was planning on pep-in a Gemini helmet and my head is 23" and I have it set at 175 width at the moment
it seemed right with just a ruler but yeah, just to make sure before I waste paper

I measured my head circumference right above the ear, it is 22 inches.
However, I want to use my glasses inside the helmet, so I'll give some more room.
I always messed up with the scaling, so don't follow me on this one. :D
When I set to 180, my ear was squeezed (I haven't glued the ear piece, but trust me on this one).
The chin is also got no more room, so I can't open my mouth, or the chin guard have to be taken off.
The helmet is quite tricky, because just couple mm off, the impact is a lot.

Hmm, I started to print and cut the cardboard, assembled it until become a helmet since my last post.
It means it took three hours, not bad!!

During my search of blue tape (which I can't find anywhere) I stumbled upon a "red tape". Only 5mm width and it only stated "strong pvc tape".
Okay, so I gave it a try. It actually quite strong, and very easy to do. It is a very thin PVC tape (not stretchable).
I am not sure how it holds during resin stage, but at least it holds now.
The down side is, it is very thin, so very flexible/wobly. I think I need several flaps with power glue to hold basic structure.
I ran out of power glue (again).

So the middle one is 188mm width, which is a keeper.
Still a bit tight, I think 190mm is better.
There are quite a huge gap on the top pf the faceplate, which I will add some cardboard later on
Also the lips not yet added, because I wanted to do flaps.

Foam parts are added.
I am not very pleased with the faceplate, but it can be fixed on bondo stage.
I made the changes on the way it unfolded, but I am not gonna make another helmet.
Next stop: resin

Wow, great finding!!!!
I looked at my reference pictures and found this (the whole palm/handplate are the same as Mk42)

It'll be a good alternative to make repulsor in shapes other than round.

BTW, during my sticker search, I found Kevlar pattern film. It has black, white and gold color!
Too bad they didn't have hex pattern. I was tempted to use the Kevlar, so I bought the black....and now I lost it somewhere.

I spent almost three hours making two bicep and one forearm.
The first bicep ended up too big (again).
Second attempt was much better and revised the unfold a bit.
I haven't finished the forearm yet. There are areas that need to be cut open, and I am very tired already.
Bicep also need to be added foam details.
Overall, I am pleased with the left arm. Shoulder already cut, just need to be assembled.

Enjoy.

Oh man that is looking so good! Fantastic!

Inner back is finished (I forgot to take pictures)
Chest is almost done. I added foam and details.
Now I need to superglue some flaps and assembled it.
Took me about an hour for inner back, and 3 hours for the chest up to this point.
I am tired, so I stopped.
