Iron man 3 Mk39 Gemini sub orbital suit <pep files are done> WIP

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

Wow man awsome dude is it gunna be for pep or just foam build and syrus dude yours is looking awsome too buddy

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

helmet is almost ready.
I took a major work on the helmet, and still not satisfied with it.
But this is the best I can do, for now.

It's gonna be foam build. However, I was thinking about hybrid.
Some detailed parts better to use paper.

Oh Syrus.....why u no fun? LOL

OMG I need to sleep, again.

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

I got some floor mats from my old car that look like this...

Maybe I should pull a mold?

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

skylu3Design,
I just finished download those from the other site. Thank you.
You can see the jetpack is different.
In the other version, it is the "spine" cover that bothers me.

whiteraven,
That's exactly the floor mats I was referring to.
They are made of hi-density rubber, so it is very heavy and too flexible.
This gives me an idea to use this as inner surface, if we want to go vacu-formed.

IronLeoMan,
should I?

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

actually i think you should just share for all the fellow iron man fans, cause i know so many people would love it and i know i would cause i been an iron man fan since i was a lil bot and more so even now. do you know when torso and helmet will be released

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

If I am not mistaken, the vinyl for car floor mats (?) have the hex indented.
Number two, it is very heavy.

Meanwhile, in 3d universe....

Hm...a pearl white probably nice for the suit. I am just afraid it'll be too bling-bling.

This is the wrap I am referring to, very light and extremely pliable, also it can bend around complex curves after a little heat is applied. The attached pic shows a carbon fiber pattern.

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

Very close to what I have in mind.
I imagine the hex is made out of ceramic instead of carbon fiber, just like the plates on the space shuttle.
In this case no need for profiled surface.

So I am going to make my own hexes and put it on the parts.
The effect is that the lines between the hexes is indented.

Damn this helmet. I made 4 revisions and unfoldings, and still not happy with it.

Jackie, that picture is actually same picture being repeated, but the close up really helps. I created a picture with all available helmet pics, as my reference pic. Is that okay to post in here?

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

Jetpack and plain back

Hm... got another pics from movies thread

Good for upper body, but not enough for the lower part.
Next project?

Good job finding the pics, Jackie, the only problem, is that all the pics show new views/images, EXCEPT the mark 39; The suit in question.

Too bad those guys couldnt have shown us more views in it.

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

I tried to make the helmet, and it just failed miserably.
The scale is too big for a start. The unfold is not satisfactory.

I am focusing on cleaning up the 3D and added more details to it.

Here is the finished suit, in 3D-rendered.

Next is to convert this to pep (again).

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

Pretty good job.

I'd be farther along on mine if i didnt keep adding more details.

what Did you use as you Main Reference pic?

Re: sub orbital suit WIP

Syrus54,
Thank you, I am still a newbie, still learning a lot.

I emailed you the pics.

Re: sub orbital suit WIP
