Iron Man 3 "MARK 8 Armor" foam build

Absolutely fantastic job! And I have to admit I'm loving the color scheme "as-is." The black/white contrast looks awesome. You should do one painted and unpainted.

Yeah the black and white version is ok...but this is the last suit i intend to build
And i found the gold paint that is the closest in my opinion... Its called Champaign Nouveau...a satin tone spray paint made by krylon

this is just the test piece for the "LEG PIT"...but i think i will do the trick...im gonna make the final copies later tonight.....i used old tube socks

i had a few tattoos tie up most of my day so i was only able to finish the backs of the legs.....got hand plates left to do...the the fine detailing with a dremil begins

so a few months back i found a led head lamp that clips onto a hat...needless to say i did need it for a hat....

but the suit is finally constructed!!!!! i will post some test fit pictures tomorrow.....

....for now i have my mark 3 helmet. im gonna start working the new helmet some time next week but first i wanna start the painting process of the suit

here is one more feature to the forearm....i cut a small opening one the right forearm and one the inside with a few strips of elastic...i made a smart phone mount....now here is the best part....MY SUIT WILL HAVE JARVIS....and bluetooth

this is what the plan is....

1... i am taking 2 of the magic bullet speaker or similar ones whichever are the loudest ones i can find and mounting them into the back or chest

2...splice them together and hook them to this wireless bluetooth audio adapter from Brookstone

3....sinc the bluetooth with my phone

4....and with using the Speaktoit Assistant App giving it a male UK voice.
you can name it, it knows your name or what name you want to be called., it make calls, sends texts, facebook updates, says the weather, tells jokes, does math and plays music...etc

5...Ta Da you have Jarvis...

Zero wires running through the arms completely wireless
basically the best way i could think of for having Jarvis in the suit
now since the armor plates for the fingers dont work on touch screen phone that is what i used elastic to connect the finger plates. you can pull it off your finger when needed...if you do this be sure to set the auto rotate to off and auto screen shutoff to off or max time limit

also a small 2mm foam flap with a magnet will alow you to hide your cell phones glow and keeps the armor looks...flip it up when you need it

Did my first full suit test fitting...need to make a few minor alterations. But im proud to say i have full mobitily in the arms and legs with 98% full coverage of armor..im going for 100%!! There will be zero undersuit showing and i will settle for nothing less

Hey TribalGrind, very creative an inventive ideas brah you'll have ta post up a video ta demonsrate how Jarvis works. keep up th' good work brah.:cool:popcorn:cool

started the painting process here is how i plan to do so... allowing 1 hour longer then recommended dryings

one coat plasti dip
2 coats lacquer
then 1 coat gold
1coat clear
tape off the gold to protect
1 coat red
remove tape
1 coat clear on everything
retape everthing but what to be silver
1 coat silver
3 coats of clear to finish it off

this may seem like overkill...but then again we build IRON MAN suits from nothing but scraps and good old fashion creativity

Before I go on with the rest of this thread, I wanted to take a minute to say thankyou to everyone for the postitive comments and feed back. I joined RPF 24 days ago and my thread is about to reach 10,000 views. I dont know if thats a normal thing for that amount of time or if thats 10,000 people once or everyone with accounts with this site daily etc. But thankyou again all of you for being interested in this build and i hope you all enjoy the finished product and for those who plan to make the Iron Man 3 armor in the future I hope some of my methods assist you or can be modified upon.

THANK YOU TribalGrind

I've been lurking the thread for a while, and I hate that you got off to a bad start on this site, but I think you've impressed a lot of people with your free hand designs. Power to you and I hope you can party hard in that suit.

man you definetly want to do more than one coat of paint per color !

lol oh yeah found that out during my tester pieces after that post i made...the champagne gold is 3 coats but the red is good enough with 2 and the silver metalic is still good with 1...thanks though
