also the red at certain angles looks like it may have some kind of texturing, almost a walnut style. personally I'd love some texturing on it and after reading the Iron Man 3 live panel rundown some footage got shown that does have extremis style suit bits where parts of the suit fly across the room and build around him (supposedly the cod piece causes an issue!) so that'll be why it's a bit more streamlined.
And the movie War Machine wasn't matte black. It's black crinkled paint.
Sorry no that is incorrect. I have production made pieces for War Machine and no crinkle paint was used on these pieces.
would love to see these "production made" pieces.
I have a thread up in the Replica prop section, been there for awhile. More parts are in the process of being acuired.![]()
BTW these where on auction way back not like they are rare jsut hard to find people who will give them up.
The way this suit is layered and how it has many mechanical elements showing, it leads me to believe that it may be some sort of compact armor like the Mark V. Maybe in the form of a backpack (seeing how the back is really the only part that doesn't have THAT many layers or mechanical elements).
footage from the IM3 panel brief description
"Tony Stark is in his tech workshop about to test out his new Mark VIII suit. He asks Jarvis to play some seasonal music, and puts on Run DMC’s Christmas in Hollis. He then begins the process of putting on his armor by striking a pose with his hand out, his body is the remote for his new suit. He slaps his wrist and strikes a pose again.
All of a sudden, his glove flies across the room and awesomely attaches itself to Stark’s hand. He then proceeds to call over more pieces, and they come flying at him at a rapidly, one hits him and knocks him over, but he uses his rocket gloves to keep him from hitting the ground. Some of the other pieces are hitting things in the room and breaking them, but they eventually all finally attach to him. The last piece to attach itself to him is his face mask, and Stark has to fly and flip over, as it rockets towards his face upside down. He land on the ground in his classic three-point Iron Man pose. "
that's real convenient for you to mention, but cool story bro.
Chuey thanks for the pics. Always appreciated them![]()
