Indy coming to Blu-Ray this fall

This version doesn't show up on the US Amazon website, even though it is allegedly region free

Hey, if it's region free, I'd be willing to pay the extra shipping for that.

One concern though, Amazon has burned me before with Blu-rays that were supposedly "region free"...

Re: Indiana Jones complete adventure in blu-ray

I'm holding off til I see some reviews to make sure the transfer and sound is ok. LucasFilm has a rather shoddy track record with this stuff, and I'm not talking about artistic choices like sticking a rock in front of a robot. I mean things like flipped rear channels, and LOUSY color correction. That said, I'm really hoping they did this one (or outsourced it) right. It took 'em 8 years to fix the last glaringly obvious botch (which, by the way, they said was by design and not a botch at all).

Got mine today and popping it in for a quick scan now!

So far, reviews are sounding good. Guess I'll pick this up!

Anyone have arundown of who might have the best price/extras?

So far from what I've seen in the Sunday sales papers - Best Buy is cheaper than Target by $5 ($65 - $70). If Walmart's website is correct, it's $69.

Target appears to come with 5 Bonus Lithographs... haven't found anything to confirm anyone else offering "extras."

I opted and got it at best buy since it was more on my way home and since I didn't know what the lithographs were I kept my $5. From the little I watched just on the on the set making raiders on the bonus disc I was very impressed.

Could do without the discs in a book packaging though, didn't like that for the aliens set. Got the region free version just to get it in a proper case. Couldn't find an option for this so I'm stuck with it.

I ordered from Italian Amazon site; it's a steelbook, and even after shipping it only came to about $54:
Indiana Jones - La Collezione Completa (5 Blu-Ray): Amazon.it: Harrison Ford, Sean Connery, Cate Blanchett, Jim Broadbent, Shia LaBeouf, Ray Winstone, Denholm Elliott, Roshan Seth, Karen Allen, Steven Spielberg: Film e TV

English 5.1 is on there, so I can deal with Italian on the packaging.

Oooooooooh, Steelbook? Are you sure? And are you certain it's region free? If so, that's definitely the set I'm going with. It's cheaper, and I really don't like the packaging the standard US Blu-ray set comes in. And yeah, at 54 bucks, I'll be ok with a little Italian on the packaging. :)

Would have been nice for the collectors edition to be packaged in a replica Ark of the Covenant instead of the diary. Might have pushed the price up a bit though.

I'm not sure the version you ordered is the Steelbook one. That one looks like it comes in the standard packaging, and I don't see anything in the description that states otherwise. I did find this link on the Italian Amazon site, which is definitely the Steelbook edition, and only a few bucks more.

Well, I reluctantly chose Best Buy. I don't shop BB often due to some really terrible customer service years and years ago... I saw a really cool CE3K collectors edition on sale for $9.99 and decided to pick that up as well...

Needless to say, the CE3K rang up a different price and I ended up leaving without anything.

Target was sold out.

Meijer (which is a regional thing) had it for the $69.98 so I picked it up there.

Picked it up yesterday. Color difference is what is most noticeable, much brighter (in a good way). Only watched part of Raiders last night, was too tired to watch things really close. Watching Crusade right now, easily noticing an improvement in image quality. Appears to be a very good transfer. Noticing things I hadn't before, things like the color of the stripes on Indy's shirt when he's at Donovan's, the texture of his suit jacket, etc. Can't comment on the sound, since I've just got it coming through the built in tv speakers.
