Hey Bill....you get my skull finished so you can tackle Summer lol Now THAT would be a sweet prop. I might have to ask the wife's opinion on semi-nude dancers hanging from my cinema room roof lol

Will do, Taz! I'm back on the orders this week now that things have settled down somewhat and the weather here is nice, hoping to start shipping again soon. ;) So...after that I can tackle Summer? Now that's what I call motivation!:love

I'll say....But the sculpt just BEGS to be hung from the ceiling in the cinema room of your choice lol Ok then...mine;)

That's truly depressing. As much as I love the image of Cameron suspended while being assembled, it's pretty low that they blatently ripped of the other image. I was reminded of the Borg Queen, or a scene from Ghost In the Shell. Kinda shocking they just photoshoped Summer Glau over the image.

They didn't even change the arm.:eek I hope the original artist at least got some credit.

Wow, that is pretty blatant, who may I ask was the original artist?

hi kevoris do you have any update on your Camron model, would love to see more, will you be makeing these for members to buy ?

Hey, Raider! I've got another project going right now that's taking up all my spare time, but when I get done with it I'm getting back to Cameron! I did get the other half of her face sculpted, I'll try to get some pics up in the next day or so. ;) If there's enough demand, I'd love to offer copies!

Which came first... the sculpt or the famous photo?

The parts and the hangwires look so identical, I figure perhaps they photographed the sculpt and then photoshoped Summer onto it like this:

No. The photo came first. The sculptor wanted to bring the famous photo to life, so he used it as reference. Unfortunately, it seems that's all he used for reference, and Summer's likeness wasn't captured at all angles. In fact, he, sorta, made her Asian.

I started playing around with this a couple of weeks after watching the season finale. Just kind of a "rough sketch" right now, so it still has a ways to go. What do you guys think? Should I go for an undamaged version? Any advice on getting the likeness closer?

Good effort, but you could be using the wrong skull. Don't female terminators have smaller skulls, therefore smaller heads? I'd modify the exposed part of the skull first, as seen in the last episode and promotional photos, and sculpt the rest of the head around it.

Yeah, you're right, GuntahKela! ;) The skull was a tad large, even though it was one of the smaller M-1 sized skulls. Everything fit but the jaw, because even though the skull itself was close to female sized, it still had Arnold's big ol' square jaw. :eek To remedy that, I made a quick dirty mold, melted some Chavant, and brushed it into the mold. Then I filled it in with foam. Without the endoskull, especially the jaw in the way, I was able to sculpt a more femine jawline. She still has a long way to go, the sculpt at this point is still very much a rough sketch.

Still needs some fine tuning before I start smoothing the surface, the eyebrows are just stuck on for placement. Any constructive critisism is welcome, she's only about my third attempt at sculpting a full sized likeness! ;)

Will, do! Might be a while though, I've got another project to wrap up first! ;)

That looks incrediblt good so far, great start, do you plan on doing the entire torso with the electrical componets sticking out? The jaw looks really good, the head seems a tad bit large but I think after you add hair it will look right on, are you going to do real hair or sculpted? And yea, so you plan on casting this up and maybe offering a few, I'd love to have one hanging from my celing with all the chrome parts sticking out!

Thanks, silverskyes402! That's the plan! :) One reason the head looks a little large right now is the mannequin body I have her on is proportioned like a 12 year old girl. :rolleyes Seriously, it's no where near human proportions, unless you count Kate Moss' early modeling career. :lol Proof that anorexia is in fashion. :sick Even though Summer is petite, she's not skinny, she still has enough curves to look feminine. :loveI'm going to beef up the mannequin quite a bit, I think that will help.

As for the terminator components, they're quite different from a normal endo, even a T-888! Probably artistic license, but I like the idea of Cameron having a different style endo, like maybe she is a special prototype or something. I'm going to try to replicate the look of the endo parts in the artwork. The only reference I have of Cameron's endo is a shot of a CG mesh I found on the DVD extras.

I'm wanting to use real hair on her, I might could do a decent version with sculpted hair, but for hair as long as Cameron's on a life size bust, I feel like a wig is the only way to go. If there is enough demand, I would love to offer it to the group. I plan on hanging her from my ceiling in my prop room when I get her finished. :)

Wouldn't it be easier to first make a endo-skull carving of Summer's photo and then built the flesh appearance her on? Because anatomically, the female's skull is smaller, the forhead higher and doesn't have the eyebrow bone ridges. I know, I'm watching too much CSI and Bones again... :rolleyes

I wonder if the endoskull in the promotion photos were that of Summer - like they did with Arnold.

I was thinking the same thing, using real hair is proboly the best way to, it will give her a much better look in the long run. After watching the special features too she does seem to be her own terminator design, a much petiter endoskeleton, if you do offer up casts it would proboly be easier to just offer the head and arms and torso part and let the buyer do the wig and endo parts. Can't wait to see more progress!!!

a real good start!

great to see, that you decided to go with the Poster-Version, same is for choosing to go with the wig. It just looks more real than sculpted hair...

and I'd love to buy one of your Camerons to hang it from my ceiling....

Keep working on that sculpt it looks like it will be a better likeness than the Japanese one :) I love Summer :love
