Hey Guys Ive been stalking this page for a while now as Ive been brainstorming on how to build My Immortan Joe costume. I don't know if I'm doing this correctly and if its okay to just ask a question on the end like this. If I am breaking etiquette let me know and Ill move my questions. Here they are....SO I am trying to make the body armor. Like a lot of you I think the best way will be to buy the cheap Amazon Roman armor but I don't like the idea of using Warbla and it seems to pricey. I definitely want to use PETG. Has anyone formed the PETG over the armor with a heat gun? Also How big is that armor? I'm sort of a big guy. 6 ft tall at about a 40 waist. Will I be able to form the plastic around it and form and bend the final product in a way that will fit me? Also what thickness PETG do I need and how large of a sheet to do all of it? Sorry if this has been addressed before its difficult to dig through all oft he comments on this thread. Your costumes look amazing guys and I appreciate any help I could get.

Talk to big boss 1o1 he actually probably will make you one and it will save you $60 on buying the Roman armor

has anyone found anywhere to get decent pistol holsters that will work? I ran back through this thread but didn't see anything, I reached out to ahoudini but he informed me that the holsters he found are no longer available online. I've found a few that might work, but I figured i'd ask to see if anyone knew of anything better before I made my purchase.

@aeonpulse

They will need to be modified, but after looking, these were the closest/cheapest I could find. I'm still waiting on their arrival. I'm hopeful that they'll work well, however. And best of all, they have both left and right!

Right Holster
Left Holster

Edit: apparently two different things were best of all. ALSO BEST of all, they're only about 25 bucks.

Hah, those are actually the same ones I already found, I just wanted to ask to see if anyone had any better suggestions before I bought them. These look great and easy to modify, plus (like you mentioned) they're cheap! Thanks!!!

Well, I was thinking...the original "scroll" medal can be bought for under $2, but shipping from the UK to the US is $45, which is totally absurd. But if we can get a group order and split the shipping costs, it'll be a lot more reasonable. If we could just get 5 people invested, the price would be comparable to the Shapeways version (but made of real metal instead of plastic!), and if we get even more investors, the cheaper each unit will turn out to be! 10 investors would mean $6 per medal, etc.

Anyone else interested?

Hi All! This has been an amazing thread, so full of cool information for this newb maker that I had to deLurk and comment! I'm cobbling together a low budget Immortan Joe myself, using a lot of the info that I've found here. I've got an awesome mask coming from an Etsy maker that I found on this thread. And yesterday, I scored authentic grey hoses at a local Army store! The thing that intimidates me the most, is of course the chest & back armor- especially on a tight budget. Anyway, the great work here is inspiring, thank you!!!

Pat, I did just that and have a number of the scroll medals still - anyone interested can PM me.
