Ima-Gun Di Lightsaber

I’m not really interested in the Ima-Gun Di version for myself, but I came across another color variant for you.

I've been searching for an Ima-Gun Di hilt ever since Shen Sabers disappeared before I could grab one. And you're making Eeth Koth/Adi Gallia variants on top of it?

This is going to be good.

I printed a sample while we wait... Had some issues with the overhangs but it was more of a dry fit test for the bearings.

Looks amazing.

On a side note, I never understood why this saber wasn’t attributed to Mace Windu for episode 1 because in the final scene during the celebration you can clearly see it hanging on his belt. But then in all the photo books and online, they attribute the Plo Koon lightsaber to Mace instead.

Anyway, been looking forward to a screen accurate version of this for ages.

Ever since I noticed it on a careful rewatch it's bothered me that the Clan hilt that Matt Sloan used as Plo Koon was listed as Mace Windu's hilt

Yea I really feel like whoever did the writing in these visual dictionaries and other sources just did about zero research to see who used what.

At the end of the day though, I’m definitely interested in this hilt. Been a favorite of mine for 20+ years.

Question for Guabe. Will this be a run with a signup list on here or will they be sold through a separate website?

Thanks!

What are your thoughts on leaving one of the hilts clean? meaning no media blasting or anodizing etc... a Clean Fisto. This would give you the option to weather it to your liking instead. Thoughts?

Would this mean the entire hilt would be polished aluminum?

My personal preference would be to match the finish of the way the hilt looks in the box of lightsabers when Ewan is choosing his, but that's just me. Perhaps others would prefer the clean version to allow for their own finishing.

Mine too, but there are some folks that DIY or use a third party to do the finishing to their liking.

I was thinking making:
1. Koth / Galia finished like the box one, meaning some parts polished, media blasted body, purple rivets, etc
2. Clean fisto, just lightly sanded parts (not polished), all aluminum.
3. Imagundi, similar to Fisto but with brass grip and brass rivets.

It's easier to finish a clean hilt than to remove the anodizing or media blasted surface. IMO

Does that mean there won’t be one finished like the resin hero Episode 1 Mace Windu belt hanger then? Fully bead blasted.

2. Kit Fisto / Mace, all media blasted, weathered similar to the real prop.

4. Imagundi, similar to Fisto but with brass grip and brass rivets.

Since the changes are just the finishes, that option is back on the table.

damn, they were really all over the place with those sabers in episode I and II! difficult for us collectors!
Nice work on the saber model Guabe :) (y)
