I didn't want to, but I like the new preds

Most of us grew up with the real PREDATOR film, I dug P2 alot less then the first (simply for the fact that there is no way in Hades that a Police officer is going to take out a PRED... of any blood), but the 3rd installment which is PREDATORS needed to be "up to date".

What most people don't realzie is that it isn't going to work the way we as fans would want it too. It's in the hands of the people who go to school for this stuff and make a living out of bringing their "vision" for the films to life.

Yes, Anderson mucked up the AVP film (which is a seperate film all together from the PREDATOR films), and AVP-R wasn't done the way most of us would of liked also, but it sufficed for a few.

We simply can't say that PREDATORS.... uh Predators :p ... were any worse than the original because they were the ideas, and concepts for a newer "species" of Yautja from the production team. It took some time for us "original fans" to get used to the newer PRED's but none the less most of us warmed up to them.

Personally, I thought the new film was pretty damned cool, especially since it was set on a different planet sans Earth being the setting as all others were. Did anyone not really get into it simply because the new PRED's were a lot different from their PRED-ecessors (ha... get it... PRED-ecessors?) :)

Great post. Yeah, that was kind of the point of the thread, is that we (I) have seemed to warm up to them. PredatorSpirit will never change his mind and is entitled to his (misguided :D )opinion, but I saw P1 at the theater and a hundred times since. The newness of Predators does not detract in any way to Predator.

I have to agree with you also on the AVP series. I loved them both due to their story line, but they were sub-par films in comparison to P1 and PS.

Believe it or not, P2 is near the bottom of my list. Poor acting from the chick ruined it for me. :D I realize many are in disagreement with me, but I think most of that is because the ending scene of P2 is so epic, and rightfully so. But that girl was the worst actor/actress of any of the films. Even worse than the blond in AVPR :p

Maria Conchita Alonso... she was in the movie 'Colors' with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall also, and she was in 'The Running Man' with none other than Arnie himself.. :D

I only know this because I had a boy hood crush on her, and stalked her movie career. :p :p

I agree with you a 100%Bill.I'm still convinced she "casting couched" that role.
SHe did not get it for her great acting skills or great singing voice(yea right) goes to show you some people are happy with ****. If I ever hear anyone near me telling me they're a Maria Conchita Alonso fan I'm goign to punch them right in the kisser !
 
Me myself, love em all!!! They all have their own originality which is epic. Mr Black however is my favourite in the movie, badass hunter like my homeass Wolf :p If it worn't for that sniper shot from Isabelle, he would'a ****** Royce up.
 
Aaaaah... the good times to be had at the expense of the lesser studies. They will evetually get our sense of humor around here... (I hope, for their sakes).
 
The old predator fans are like this classic predator in the movie, humiliated, hands tied, they can't do **** but suffering,and witness the debacle,and they got killed quickly by these ridiculous new preds, the symbolic is perfect.

But you're the winners, it"ll be a sequel and the hack Rodriguez clearly hinted a new story based on his first draft (the one where preds take a piss on a human, the one with pred-bikes chases, and four armed genetically modified preds)


if you enjoyed that Predators garbage, you will certainly enjoy the sequel.
