At the risk of me being stupid [tm] (highly probable) - what should I model next?

The Elysium SMG is modeled, and now made! Yay for finishing things.

The next obvious question is: what do I model next?
It does seem I like modeling guns (I'll try to be open minded tho!!!) and I do get a bit lost in detail. I want to do stuff that either doesn't exist or is ... shall we say ... "not great" in quality.

I try to create things that are printable by mere mortals. Those of us with FDM printers, sandpaper, and time. I havn't specifically ever cut up any of my final models for use in resin. Anyway; that's probably not quite on topic.

Soooo ...

Ideas for what insanity to do next?

I'll refer you back to this post...I'm still interested in any of these!

Thank you for considering! No worries if they don't float your boat. I still love my Severance speaker!

Ummm - that's actually a good reminder. I really should go back and take a gander at that list.

Astyanax - looking at this:

I presume that's what you meant? Just the circle + logo part? or the rectangle bit as well?

I would also have thought (havn't checked) that there would be zillions of accurate models of these?

I meant the whole thing with the rectangle. There are a few out there, yes, with varying levels of accuracy. Most are not accurate. Most of them get the delta either wrong or not idealized, at least.

But more importantly, the thing is a nightmare to paint because of all the raised surfaces! I'd love it if it can be printed in all its disparate pieces that could be painted independently, and then glued together like a model kit. It would be a good dozen pieces at that point I would think! Micro holes in the bottoms of each part that could receive bamboo skewers for painting would be cool too! I'm also thinking that two versions of the delta (accurate vs. idealized) could be provided, as well as the option for the "dot" to be placed in the upper right or bottom left corners (it's worn both ways throughout the films).

So basically I'm talking about something that's a bit more premium of a kit, and something you could sell in your Etsy store too. This kind of kit is NOT already out there. For people my age (grew up in the early 80s), there is no better version of the Starfleet insignia!

I'm happy to provide reference shots of all kinds. :)

Thanks for considering!
