The staff have reviewed this situation and have come to the following resolution:

I am making this post at approximately 10:45pm Eastern Standard Time on March 11, 2007. Please make note of this.

Both this thread and the thread started by Hydlin will be closed in 24 hours if there is no resolution.

Once they are closed no more threads will be permitted on this topic. Three threads devoted to this topic have allowed both members to vent, present their sides, hear multitudes of opinions and yet no resolution is forth coming.

Hydin and Kerr can take this to email or telephone but the opportunity to resolve this by forum will end in 24 hours from now.

Thanks for your understanding. Any questions please feel free to contact myself or any member of the staff.

Thank God.

A new low point in the history of awful decisions.

By locking these threads without resolution, including the one that was locked in the Junkyard, they will quickly fall off the radar and disappear into history. This will serve to neither press the parties into a solution (hydin could simply ignore kerr's future requests for restitution and kerr would have no avenue for recourse - I'm not saying that Chris will do this, but it is a possibility), nor to stand as an example and learning experience for the latest group of new members that are signing on during the current registration period. At the very least, this thread and the one from the Junkyard should be stuck as a public notice until the parties come to an agreeable resolution.

Well I just read this entire thread:

Superman payment/sign up thread

Good baiting David, pot, kettle, black.
As far as this being at at cost run, I simply dont believe it. call me cynic.
A good seller would have given up a extra ebay sell to the reserved party.

Youre going to avoid selling him anything? Im doubtful hes looking for meteorite dust or some star wars plates. The boba blaster days are over :(

There must be another board with a more enlightened since of the way a transaction can be made. In the mean time, all the newbies take note and use care when preordering in the JY.
hydin, you should sell some of your stuff you bought on ebay with your profits to pay kerr back. And the crystal i bought isnt a recast if its made BY YOUR OWN COMPANY.

I agree on this one. Closing this thread my take away Kerr's only means on getting any resolution, as well as setting up a nasty precedent.

Newbie here but this one caught my eye because the other thread was locked.

In my lurking mode I have seen several somebody owes somebody threads pop up over and over again some of them very long, the Bowjunkie (sp) one comes to mind, why is this one any different then the others and why is it being locked?

I see that former members have been banned for not following through with sales in the for sale forum or taking money and never delivering, and this member somehow gets protected?

Not only did the mod's so called "resolution" leave a lot to be desired, but they can't even follow through on it.

Deciding to lock Hydin's thread prematurely just because he requested it to be locked?

Things weren't going Hydin's way when hard questions were being asked of him...on a thread that he started. So...he decides to take his ball and go home and worse yet....the mods let him?

Under the circumstances surrounding this whole fiasco, the premature closing of Hydin's thread, especially when new valid questions were being asked, should not have been an option. (At least not until the originally stated time of the closing.)

All it does is add to the confusion and show a lack of consistency when moderating this forum.

Gentlemen, this is a bad decision and sets a bad precedent for this Board. :unsure

Has it been too long for Kerr to file a complaint with PAYPAL? Forgive me if I have not kept up on the timeline.

the problem is that no resolutions are comming out of this...

all i know is ive never seen kerr or hyden have a prob with anyone before, im deffinately NOT going to take sides, but i really think that this should have been dealt with via PM first, then brought before the mods, then agreed apon.

not a public bashfestival.

now heres my 2c

ok, im a poor SOB and i dont have cash to sling around, so i understand that 70-80 dollars can mean alot to alot of people... and i understand kerr feeling that he is owed money because he didnt recieve what he paid for...

but heres the problem...

when i order something, and its more money than i care to lose... i ask if its insured. and if not, i get it insured or shy away, just cause i cant afford fro something to go wrong.

accidents DO and will happen guys.

and im not sayin whos right or wrong, im just sayin that this is not a civil discussion, kerr you arent willing to accept or entertain any offer that isnt full refund... right?

and Hydin you arent willing to give a full refund. and it was an at cost project with no extras made, so to have one made would cost alot more right?

guys, find a middle ground.

you cant come here everyday and bash people.

and this HAS turned into a bashfest, there are enemies being made to some big name makers etc. and to flat out call people out like has been goin on, these people are going to remember you... you may want something that only there friend has the molds for...

there have already been things said that wont be forgotten and cant be taken back.

and those things are worth LOTS MORE THAN $80...

i suggest we all learn from this and from now on if you sell something, insure it.

and if you buy something, insure it.

and think before you speak, for this will be a thread long remembered. :(

God bless, and i do hope this can be resolved. :(

Yep, that sums it up, same thing happened in his for sale thread...

The fact his thread closed early doesn't matter as I am sure this one thread will provide ample opportunity for people to voice their opinions. Does it really matter if it is done here or in his thread?

First off I will preface this with saying I object to threads like this being closed...

To keep in line with that logic, shouldn't other threads like the above referenced Bowjunkie thread be killed as well, after all it's well over a year old and still no resolutions?

http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=...mp;hl=bowjunkie

I believe they should all be left intact and open as reference for newbies if nothing else...

:confused

i think that hydins case and that of BJ's is a bit different.

but i see what your saying and yes from a NON-biased POV, threads should be kept open for the new guys to see how things can snowball out of control etc.

but comparing hydin to him?

so i know i read before that others have had problems with hydin, yet havent seen any proof etc. is there a list of names???

im not saying there arent but all im seein is naysayin and name-callin, not proof of anything.

just curious.

like i said, i really hope you guys can work this out. like men.

this is like a big kid playground (with toys and all.) so handling things in the center of the playground is more just fighting than fixing.

im suggesting that the 2 of them find a middleground and everybody takes there balls home. :lol

I wasn't comparing hydin to bowjunkie, just so that is straight... I only used that as an example because it was previously brought up in the thread...

Just pointing out that just because there is no immediate or even future resolution in sight, isn't just cause to just kill a thread... The thread if nothing else servers notice and makes people aware of how the seller handles problems when and if they come up be it good or bad...

Just look at the For/Sale thread in this regard, hydin was more then happy to keep it open when people were around giving pats on the back for the project... But, once it went negative he had it killed...

i got ya.

i guess i just wish we could all get along, we all love this place, and we all love props...

i just wish that we could trade things, and even secrets in a friendly, even family friendly environment.

if there were something i could say to resolve it and make both sides happy, but like you said exo... there is no resolution in site.

which is why i said, everyone should walk away, and the 2 people who are actually involved should try to find a middle ground... but once again... like i said... that aint happening.

i just think its a shame.

and also like i said,

in the future...

if you are selling something, make sure its INSURED.

and if your buying something, make sure its INSURED.

if its not, it doesnt matter whos wrong or right, the damned thing was NOT insured. :unsure

really hope that some middle ground can be found and accepted by both sides.

once again good luck and God bless.
