Huge project...but want to start small

Ok, so I've decided to start a new project. I want to make a supernatural creature hunter's handbook/manual. I want it to look like it was made maybe in the 1600s, then confiscated by the Vatican and stored in their libraries (Vatican seals on cover etc), then stolen from the Vatican (maybe by Van Helsing?), and now is being passed from hunter to hunter each adding their own notes. I know that's like a massive project, but I want to start working on a few of the inserts just to see if my heart is really in for the long haul. I thought it would be clever to have a page on exorcisms and have an old movie ticket fro the movie The Exorcist in that page. Would anyone have any idea how I would go about making a fake movie ticket?

Thanks,
Neo

Googled exorcist ticket stub came up with that.

Just a headup, but that ticket are from 2000, You are looking for a ticket made in 1970s if you want it to be at the first screening.

Just so you know, a ticket from back then would have looked like this or this.

I doubt any theater in the world had self printing tickets till the 80s at least.

I agree but most still had custom printed rolls...

There are a few good examples on this page...

And many more in Google images if you keep searching all different phrases...

It is indeed a big project, especially if you have to do something like this in your spare time, but if you can work on it regularly you should be able to pull it off in a decent amount of time:)
Once I started a personal "bestiary" of dark creatures (some pages can be seen here: http://www.freewebs.com/giorgio-viola/drawings.htm ) but I still haven't found the time to finish it... Oh well, I'll find a way to do it, sooner or later...

Good luck:)

Go to your library and get your hands on a copy of "Discoveries in the Ruins of Nineveh and Babylon" by Austen H. Layard, ISBN # 1-931956-50-2

Go to pages 509-526. Jewish forms of exorcism inscribed on bowls used for the rituals during the Babylonian Exile. They'll go great in your book as inserts from the 1800's.

Alternatively, you could watch the 6-episode British miniseries "Demons". The son of Van Helsing smites underworld characters with the help of Gavin and Mina, a la Buffy. They have a sizeable library and they are seen to research things from time to time. The harpy episode comes to mind.

You could get an idea for props from this library.
