How Would You Mount This On the Helmet?

I'm making a cosplay for an up and coming game called ARC Raiders that has an aesthetic very near to Star Wars - retro-futuristic and super scuffed. The bottom line is I want to put the old Duracell Durabeam flashlight on the side of the helmet (see pictures).

I'm trying to find a mount or something I could screw into the side of the helmet and then attach the flashlight to it, but I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas what would be a good way of going about this? Many thanks for any knowledge you can give me. :D

You might look to cell phone mounts for inspiration. For example I might make the "holster" with a big rectangle in the front for the lens and a smaller rectangle in the back for the battery back. Making this a snug fit. Attach with one screw going through one side of the holster (left side, right side, bottom side) and through the surface of the helmet. Having just one screw would allow the holster to pivot around that screw; up and down. or left and right depending upon placement, to direct the flashlight beam in that direction. The flashlight would slip in to the "front" of the holster with a friction fit or simple retention system so it would not fall out but would be easy to remove for handheld operation. The pivot would have a ratchet system to hold the beam direction unless purposefully changed. If you want to keep a "connection" even when hand held, get a belt clip badge holder which uses a pull-out cord. Attach one end to helmet/holster the other to light. Pull the cord out to move the light away, when you bring it back the cord automatically retracts like some dog leashes.

The pivot point could also be on an "arm" which juts out away from the helmet before attachment to the holster.

I'd use an adjustable cell phone holder with a ball joint, that'll give you all of the poseability without too much hassle for mounting. Toss on a couple of greebles, and maybe a spiral cable off the back.

Really looking forward to Arc Raiders too! As a suggestion, I put some lights on a helmet and went with rechargeable bike lights. I got two from Amazon for about $20 each that have mounts that swivel and can detach easily and you dont need AA's. I printed a shroud for them to make them look more the part. There are a lot of styles in a similar look unless you want the vintage look for Arc Raiders.. which might be the point. :)
