How do you pep?

Im working on my first MAJOR pep and costume build right now (iron man mark 6). Ive pep'd a few helmets here and there for fun but I started to notice a pattern and options.

So I ask, How do you pep?

Do you cut EVERYTHING out and then go back through and score?
Do you use 2 different pens to score? The back side of a exacto? I even had someone say they use one of those cuticle cutters for your fingers to score the folds.
Do you score then cut? Do you cut then score? Do you cut score and glue only once you find where the piece goes?
Music? TV? How do you pep?

I pep by getting the glee squad, cheerleaders, ASB and pep band to put together a rallie.

Other than that I have no idea what the terminology you used actually means.

When I was doing major pep work, I would cut everything out then take screen grabs of the 3D model blown out so I could see where pieces would go then assemble it by hand, cutting parts out with a exacto and folding the paper by hand without scoring.

I'd first like to go on record as saying that I've always found the use of "pep" as a verb to describe the paper modeling process a bit ridiculous. There, I said it. :lol

I cut and score as I go...cut out a few pieces with scissors and/or a snap-blade knife (stopped using X-acto knives a long time ago, snap blades are far more cost effective) and then score my lines using a small 6" metal ruler and a straight stainless steel pick. The pick doubles as a glue applicator too - just a dab on the end out of my glue pot, a quick smear on the tab, and then wipe the pick off on a folded-up paper towel. Metal tweezers are an excellent tool to apply pressure to the glued tabs, makes the glue set very quickly.

Here's a pic of the tools I use 99% of the time:

And yes, my name is on my scissors, because my wife and my son both have a habit of walking off with them when my back is turned. :lol

My work surface is my keyboard tray, and I've usually got a web site open on the primary monitor and a movie or TV show running on the second one. Got to have some background noise when doing tedious work like this! :)
