How do you make PVC look like copper pipes?

I guess you could cover the surface with real copper foil.

If the PVC pipe is standard sized readily available Home Depot variety.
you can replace it with also readily available copper water pipes.

Lightly sand the PVC
Spray with primer, probably a black automotive primer.
Paint with copper spray paint.
Dry brush with black paint.
Spray with a flat or matte clear paint.
If you need 'new' looking copper pipes, skip the black and spray a gloss clear over the copper paint.

House of Kolor makes a superb Kosmic Krome copper paint that's ready to spray out of the can. Not cheap though.
i've been really happy with just plain old rustoleum metallic copper. it has a great shine to it.
