The Batman TV series debuted this day in 1965. I watched it in its original run (so, yeah, I'm old).

Loved it then but I couldn't sit through it now, but I know lots of people hold it in esteem. Like it, loathe it, it's a true piece of geek history, so raise your glass to Adam, Burt, Julie, and all the Hollywood actors who did it for their kids (and a check).

One of my earliest memories is catching this show in its syndication and catching the movie on TV. Specifically Catwoman, (I think Eartha Kitt), falling into a chasm and Batman fighting off a shark. Still love it to this day and one of two iterations of Batman that come to mind when people ask "who is your favorite Batman?".

Loved it then, I also caught it when it first ran, and still love it in all of its campy glory!

I remember "Shark Repellant", and "How To Get Rid of a Bomb".

LOVED this show when I was a kid!
(of course, I was 3...)

It served as intro for the characters for me as a child though it was in reruns by the seventies for me.
I remember thinking that Batman sure was smart to figure out all those crazy riddles and puzzles. LOL all total BS of course.
And I had some Batmobile toys as a kid, the car was a major star.
Later I read comics and thus learned the deeper value of the character.
The show was a bit of an obstacle to overcome in trying to get others to read comics, the whole biff bam pow holy giggle factor
was indeed set in minds very deeply.
But again, for kids it was just fine. But even then, dear gawd Julie Newmar.

The first episode was a bit more serious in tone and I believe the only time the show ever referenced his murdered parents. After that, they decided it should be more parody.
