Hi! I have boobs and I make...

Just keep on seeing more and more amazing pictures. Really like it when the husbands, boyfriends, significant others..whatever also come costumed...just the excitment on both their faces is nice to see. Love the original costumes as well...imagination and a well planned design are always a finished amazing display. :thumbsup

I make junk. Seriously, after looking through this board I have had to restrain myself from commenting "That's soooo cool!!!" on every project. But, that just means I have lots to learn and plenty of room for improvement.

This is was my first real attempt at making anything really cool. My Kali costume with arms made from pool noodles:rolleyes. It's from Halloween a few years ago. I wish that I had better pictures of it :unsure

First time trying an attachement. Hope it works.

I think it's a great Kali costume, Lili. :) And I know what you mean; I know I could use some better skills, but I also know that what I make today is a lot better than what I made when I first started costuming and being serious about it. Of course, there is always something new to learn...

it's not weird to crossplay!~ There's actually a pretty large contingent of crossplaying girls in the anime community. :X

I really can't pass well at all, (my hips are HUGE!) so I only ever crossplay kinda fruity things, like I did Fujimoto with one of my girlfriends as Howl. Neither character are big strapping manly men.

and I crosscosplayed Leeron from Gurren Lagann with my husband as Kamina.. but Leeron again isn't super manly.

and again, Saionji from Utena... but does strapping down the ladies and wearing a long luxurious curly green wig REALLY count as proper crossplay? haha...

also did the Tenth Doctor from Doctor Who, but, like I said, I wasn't really trying to pass, it was more as a joke costume covered in sequins. XD

I SAY DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. and Kudos to those of you who are able to look awesome as both a girl and a guy, I always admire that cause sometimes the male character is the most interesting! I don't typically care to be a wilting flower character and with my 6 foot height, I usually can't pull it off anyway. haha.
XOXO

All I can say is Ladies your skills and talent know no bounds.

Chloe, please don't EVER let anyone try to put you into their perception of what you can and cannot do or be. You are you, you choose for yourself and spit in the eye of anyone who tries to tell you different.

Many people male and female have body identity issues, either they feel themselves to thick, too thin, too this or too that. That is a trap. Don't fall for it. Be what you want and what makes you feel good. If you enjoy it pbbbbt on them. Never let other judge you, only you can judge you, and sometimes too harshly, so remember this is supposed to be FUN! So enjoy yourself and ignore what anyone else says.

To all the other ladies I will say seeing your work has left me speechless, if it weren't for my typing skills you wouldn't be reading this :D

I kinda have boobs...Little bit.
I'm more crafty crafty. I can sew from patterns and am slowly stumbling my way around altering patterns and creating my own...

There were so many photos and comments I wanted to respond to, but there are way too many. I've been an RPF member for a while now, but time and budget keep me from doing as much as I'd like to. I've always loved making Halloween costumes, especially from found or altered items. I got into cosplay when I started attending conventions with my then-boyfriend, now-husband. The search for information led me here. I think I've gotten quite a bit better since then.
This was my first cosplay:

And this is the most recent one I've completed:

I think my favorite so far is Ma Hunkel, aka the Red Tornado:

I think I was Miss July in the Ladies of the RPF calendar, but I can't go check because my husband put it on his desk at work.:) I'm trying to get into better shape so I feel more comfortable in a variety of costumes, but until then, I'm always looking for things that look good on bigger gals.

My first love is action figures and customizing, and if you'd like to see them, there's a link to my Facebook page in my sig.
I've done a few props here, and have plans for many more, most of which are also toy-related. In the future, I'd like to learn corset-making and there's at least one armored character on my wish list.

You should totally do Pam from Archer!

I look up to everyone of these girls in the thread! SO awesome! Been in and out of this thread while getting ready for Dragon*con! GAHH! DROWNIN' IN FABRIC!

I guess to add to mine, I do couples costumes with my bf Chris. Like Amy, I was in the RPF calendar too!

Here are my favorite couples costumes I've done for us:

Love this thread! Thanks for starting it Abby.

& Ladies, thanks for sharing. These costumes are amazing! :love

YouAreTheDead; sorry, but I can't see your pic. Neither does the fb link work. (Are your pics private on fb? If they are strangers can't see them).

CelticRuins, your couple pics are great. :D I love the Beauty and the Beast one in particular. (And now my computer decided I should hear a song named 'beauty and the beast'. So random). :p

CelticRuins, all your couples cosplays are so awesome! I especially like the Will/Elizabeth and Rogue/Gambit ones. That Elizabeth jacket from On Stranger Tides is amazing! The detail and leatherwork is so beautiful.

When I originally spotted this thread, I avoided posting because I really hate feeling like a leg-humper (we all know how often it happens when the girls start showing off their costumes), but after scrolling through and seeing all the amazing work, not posting would have been even more creepy. LOL

Having said that (Curb Your Enthusiasm, anyone?), I'm glad to see there's so many talented women here, and you just keep popping out of the woodwork! I have a feeling if I pay attention I might learn something.

Bravo, ladies!

Very new to costuming (and rpf ;) ) but I am starting out with a Captain America USO girl for NYComicCon. Still in progress but I'll make sure to come back with finished pics when it's done! All of these costumes look fantastic and glad to see plenty of other girls around!

First - I was over cloud nine when I found this forum THEN I went past the moon when I saw this thread and all the fabulous ladies that are just as costumey and prop minded as me! Can't wait to go back and look at all of the items!

Current projects for me = 1800's Warehouse 13 agent back from the far east as well as a modern agent. I've got the costume pieces done (frakensteined items from other costumes) so now I'm building a working Farnsworth and hopefully a mini tesla ala Claudia's. This ALWAYS hapens a month out from Dragon Con! LOL Mad dash for different costumes!
