Hi! I have boobs and I make...

So, I thought I was done with crossplay and then BAM!

Last night I was looking through my wigs for a good Lady Thor wig (my hair is brown with bangs right now, and I hadn't intended on changing that before Halloween), and all of them are TERRIBLE. So, my back up plan is to do a Lady Tony Stark. Iron Man is my favorite anyway (isn't he everybody's :rolleyes), so I was looking through my wigs for that. I found a short wig, and acting on a comment made that, "You looked like Johnny Depp, maybe you can look like RDJ," this happened:

I know looking like someone isn't really much of a costume, but I thought I'd share while I dig around for costume photos.

EDIT: Is this too freaky? I always get mixed responses from crossplay. It was really just a one-time "because I can" type thing. lol

AbbyDarkStar- I LOVE your Poison Ivy!
MaeganMarie- I love the attention to detail on your red dress Witchblade costume. Your work on the Witchblade proper is frakking amazing!

Didn't know to post any pics when I introduced myself, so here's a little bit of what I do and what not.

Awesome that you made Elf armor too! You need to bring that to Dcon! Your stuff is amazing! THAT BUMBLEBEE!

Oh yeah! I love seeing the Dragon*Con carpets...and I love how we are all realizing we've already met here and there. ^^

Hi I'm Jane, I have not posted here in some time. Mainly because until Art took over women were not welcome or respected here. But I'm glad to see things changing.

I'm a Costumer, propmaker, blah, blah, blah...I make stuff, I wear it, I have fun.

I'm probably known more for my N7 Suit which was made by my Partner EvilFX. But I make my own stuff too. I have a Degree in Technical Theater with a Costume and Lighting Design Concentration. I sew, I sculpt, EVA Foam builds and anything else I can get my hands on. I worked as a Portrait Painter for 10 years and if you need to know anything about paint, I'm your gal. I currently Admin the N7 Elite Costuming Group which focuses on Mass Effect Costumes and Props. I'm currently working on 4 costumes, so I'm a busy gal.

I love your ME armor! I look at it a lot while I work on mine, even though it's a different version. I'm also really excited to hear that you're a portrait painter turned costumer - because I am, too. (Paintings of my students and their families are what fund most of my costume supplies).

All I have to show for Shep right now are some boots, but I'm very happy with them so far:

Oof, I'm gone for a couple days and this thread explodes! YAY!

Jathoris - I am in awe! Your elven armour looks perfect (The Prologue armour is my favourite and truthfully, one of my dream costumes to make. Alas, I am not gifted with any sort of crafting skills). The Bumblebee is pretty rocking awesome too!

Booksandcorsets - Well at least that awful carpet actually acted as an accent to Bumblebee with that yellow! :lol

Paradox Jane - STUNNING work! Wow! I can't imagine the skill it took to do those prosthetics and armour.

Abby - Any word on when that RPF meet-up is at Dragoncon or did I just miss it somewhere in these posts?

And a big hearty WELCOME to all the new ladies on the RPF who just joined! :cheers

I'll post my costume here (that way you folks don't have to go finagling through a bunch of links). I made my costumes with other much more talented ladies. I can only think up, design, draw, and model costumes, with some helping out in the menial department (i.e. cutting fabric, pinning pattern to fabric, etc. But forget actually sewing! I am the grim reaper of sewing machines!)

Really nice costumes, TheLadyNerd! I like your original designs. Its always nice to see a well executed creative idea.

So awesome to see your stuff! I have to admit, my brother and I were on EvilFX's site a bunch when he first released his plans for the N7 armor. Love the Asari headpiece. I've tried one myself, but I really need to re sculpt it and add all the wonderful detail. Thanks to a friend, I was recently added to the N7 Elite Costuming Group, though I probably need to be more active. lol

Thanks everyone, and ALL of the talent in here is just mind blowingly incredible. btw.. I LOVE all of these pro shots. The detail and hardwork in these costumes are already so beautiful but then you add that extra set element... Wow.. Just wow!

Celtic! we've met before but I had NOOOOO idea that was you! :lol:lol That's pretty funny and you guys looked friggin perfect!

I legitimately clicked on this thread by accident while trying to open something else, and then did a double-take: "...Boobs? Wait, where am I?"

But I might as well post now, since I'm here and it's appropriate -- I mean, I do have them. Except when I'm crossplaying. Which I tend to do for about half my costumes. (So maybe I should put up half a post...?)

Anyway, I do sew, but in my cosplay group I'm responsible for all the pattern design, prop construction, wig styling, jewelrymaking, accessories, and pretty much everything that ISN'T sewing. I've been cosplaying for about ten years; I've done a lot of anime and video game costumes, as well as the usual complement of things like Star Wars, The Avengers (both the 1960s British TV series and the Marvel property), a handful of historical costumes, etc. I've been in a couple of Star Trek fan series and helped out with costumes and makeup for those, as well.

My sister and I also run nearly all of the costuming workshops at Gen Con, so if anyone's in Indy next week, stop by and wave hello! :)

AVA, since lots of people crossplay, it's not a requirement only to play in female attire in this thread. ;)

TheLadyNerd; I love your mythical and french nobility costumes. They look great!

A few of my costumes. I make costumes for my husband too but mostly I help him with his armor projects.

Fangs: Your taste in subject matter is almost as impressive as your work.

Thank you, Chris. You're making me blush.

It just reminded me of the one and only time we've met in person. I was in my Alice armor and walked past you. You tried to get my attention by touching my shoulder bell and I just rolled out of it and kept walking. SO many people had been touching me I stopped even looking. Thankfully you called out FANGS and I stopped. And I'm so glad you did, although it was a very brief meeting. I'm often in awe of your talent but even moreso of your willingness to share your knowledge with others. It's people like you that make a board like this such a community of knowledge. So thank you!

Iycis - always a fan of your work!
