Oh, this is embarrassing. I've been a member of the RPF for years, but mainly keep quiet due to crippling fear of the internet forum. That, and I was away on tour for a few months at the end of 2012. So I'm kind of treating this as a fresh start, I guess? I lurk a lot. And then I get wrapped up in a project and forget to do things like check up on the internet ...or eat. But I love seeing other folks create. I tend to fall more on the sewing side of things. It's hard to do a whole lot of prop work out of a NYC apartment!

As far as costuming goes, I'm currently working on a Brienne of Tarth for Dragon*Con.

Past costumes include Lady Loki, Effie Trinket, Idris (the Tardis in human form), Bellatrix, Scarlett & Giselle (from Pirates of the Caribbean), and Silk Spectre I.

Wow lady, your costumes are gorgeous!

Thought I would share some stuff too :)

My favourites are still Ventress and my Jedi robes. I make pretty much all my stuff myself, although I am not able to do my own leather work.

Prosthetics and makeup (for Ventress) are all done by me and self-taught though :)

Awesome to see so many other awesome female costumers!!

my Facebook is www.facebook.com/kittehcosplay

although I will say that I also do some cosplay so not all my stuff is movie orientated!

This is a great thread...and I definitely recognize many of these photos from Dragon*Con. This will be my 6th year attending the convention, and I started cosplaying about four years ago.

Hi! I sew, make some costumes, do jewelry and some steampunk stuff. If there is a craft thing, I probably can do it, or would be glad to learn. I have a lot of interest in doing more costuming and making more accurate replicas.

Pics or it didn't happen. ;) LOL

Welcome! :thumbsup

Hello fellow Boob Bearers :-D
I'm a leather armourer by trade, but vent out my passion for all things Cosplay by making various props and costume pieces too :)
I am totally obsessed with Hellboy at the minute, well..all the time and am putting serious time and energy into my costume for this May in London...
I love this forum!

Smidge reporting for duty! *Salutes* I've been a cosplayer for yeeears and last Halloween I built my Mark 3 Iron Man. I try to do every aspect of my costumes, from wig work to wiring, because I like learning handy new techniques. Howdy from the Tater State! :>

Is there anyone here that could make a catwoman suit for my wife for next Halloween? Will pay well if its done well.

Growing thread is growing! I have been pretty much out of commission for the last six months (I can't believe it has been that long) due to a sinus infection that kicked the behind of anything thrown at it (five different antibiotics, steroids...) apart from the one medication that has to be reported to three government agencies! But Hooray! Runny nose and post nasal drip I can deal with when I no longer want to dremel into my face! Trepanning- now I get it!

I have also been "busy" updating and transferring my website.
mdb- costuming now has my most important tumblr updates and I should now be able to just post to my blog and have my social media sites update *fluttershy cheer* (woohoo).

All my old content is there plus some updated pages (Mina red dress is finally up!) though I have yet to put up quite a few from the last few years.
Or my very early stuff.... But at least I have site search on now XD less need for tags. Lazy blogger is lazy.

Currently upgrading my Talon costume and working on getting Nyreen finally cut out and the black fabric overdyed again (yay for mixed fabric). And then all the historic costumes again! Can't wait for my Sunburst gown at last. And Spanish gown with 5 pounds of bullion trim! Also a Fluttershy inspired series of costumes to make the most use out of some epic wig pieces.... Now to update my signature....

Michaela, I've been admiring your costumes for AGES. I remember finding your site back when I was working on costumes from Lord of the Rings & Moulin Rouge. Your craftsmanship & attention to detail is just exquisite. <3

Thank you :) I was so naughty, I snuck a pen in to the exhibition and managed to take enough notes on the fully printed pamphlets to get decent early info on a few of the costumes! Now there is luckily a whole lot more info out there from exhibitions where photography was allowed :)
(Getting the bug to make the Hindi Wedding gown having seen it in person in a private viewing at The Powerhouse- so not doing the embroidery though it is insane- stumpwork and beadwork and bullion work.. all hand done not cornelly machone too, not allowed to share photos but I am allowed to share my at scale drawing of the repeats, will tidy them up and get them uploaded :) I might think about getting the design machine embroidered but it is about 6000X200mm of embroidery.... and is very dimentional.)

Just tumblr buddied you XD

Buah, I'm all kinds of shy to be posting. Internet forum fear and what-not.
Anyway, uhr... Yeah, I've been working on making things and stuff. I've more dabbled in sub-dye lately since it is just /too damn fun/ to get done,
Like doing my Slurm suit~

But, I have SOOO MANY THIIIINGS I plan to make! Especially with PAX coming up in a few months.
I plan to make (not all for PAX):
> Halo Spartan armor
> Reilly's Rangers armor from Fallout 3
> A faun cosplay, just... y'know, for ren faires and stuff. v//u//v
> Possibly Lux from League of Legends.
> Samus from Metroid
> BTRO's vest from The FP

It's gonna be a busy, busy next few months. Luckily, as an industrial design student, though, I at least get to use the workshop instead of attempting all of this in my apartment.

Er... Slurm suit, yey

Iiiif anyone maybe wants to, like, see or something, I'll be posting progress stuff primarily on my facebook page once I get off my lazy ass and begin?
https://www.facebook.com/CherryLipsCosplay

Or I have a tumblr. But I generally post really obnoxious stuff from time to time on there:
I apologize too much.
