Hero Phaser Scratchbuild

I packed the gap behind the socket with PC7. It takes 24 hours to set, but it's hard as steel.

PC7 cool another product iv'e never heard of. is it truly as hard as steel? i could use something like that ..any chance it's conductive..

This is truly epic....we all can learn a lot from your build....although I am not sure I would ever try it myself.....lol........
you definitely got us on the edge of our seats !!!

Thanks guys.

Well that's figurative, but it does contain steel and it's very tough. I don't think it's conductive. I like it because it's a thick paste so it doesn't run, and it gives you plenty of time to work it into place and clean up the excess. I also used it to secure the twist plug in the grip, and on the brass screw tab in the front of the shell.

I have to modify the nozzle for a hero build, I started by cutting off the short mounting shaft on the band saw.

Then epoxied in a new longer mounting tube.

This tube is drilled for a screw. Thank you Junkman for the tube.

The nozzle mount is a piece of brass bar drilled and tapped for the mounting screw. It was tacked in with JB Quik.

Then I secured it with PC7.

If I had the money , I would send you all my parts to build me one too !!! LOL....I can imagine that would be an extremely costly project as well....I am hoping to start mine in the near future, hope I don't mess it up....LOL

It's really great to watch this come together... It's really fantastic to watch this come along.

Fantastic. I made a very crude wooden one of these when I was in high school in the 1970's (still have the parts somewhere) based on the drawings in the Starfleet Technical Manual. I had taken it all apart soon afterwards with the idea that I'd re-do it better, but I never did. I was recently thinking I should put it all back together in its original condition as a keepsake, and build a proper new one from scratch - but I doubt I could ever reach the level of quality I see in this build. Bravo!
