I can't help with the part - but let me be the first to say what you have so far looks stunning!

Just to be clear (hey I'm the noob with the noob questions, right?)
When you say "Full size" you mean shooting model size, right?
You don't have a hangar deck or something, right?

Looks awesome, BTW!

Thanks Zombie-Man if you ever remember what tank that is PLEASE let me know.Ive been looking for that part forever!!!!:cry
Do you build many tank models?Maybe you have a list of possibles-if so it would still give me some direction-Thanks for narrowing the field.
Also-Thanks for the kind words Howard:)

I've build planes and tanks. I've made a thread in the planes and armor sections on a modelling site I post on. Hopefully they're come up with something.

I'm not sure if I could even come close when listing kits because I have a terrible knack for picking up a kit, getting all amped about working on it and then putting it away. But to me it looks like a part inside a turret

Hmmm-that may mean its a kit with a full interior.I think its 1/35 scale so maybe that can narrow it even more.BTW-really like to thank you for starting that thread!!

HouseAtredes - Nope he means that he's building a copy of the 5 footer "full size shooting miniature" not the more commonly built ESB 32inche "full size shooting miniature".

As for that part... That ones a toughy because its not really that distinctive... It looks like it could be a suspension part from a truck or a tank... I'd check a 1/35 and 1/72 panther, as well as the matilda, and panzer. I'd also look at the "tank truck" I can't remeber the name of it that the Germans used... I know the rad 8 was used ont he 32 but I don't know if it also was scavenged for the 5 footer. You could also try the railgun kits... a lot of theose were used if I recall ... but I could be remebering the poarts list for the 32"...

Its good to see my pictures being put to good use though... I was the one who originally took a lot of those pics of the 5 footer... you can tell mine because they have a lot of "glare"... the room was DARK and the plexiglass was not friendly to me - but I did manage to get some good reference picks even if theyu are not going to win any prizes for photography ;)

And I for 1 thank you for those pix !!They are the photos that started me off on this build! As for those kits-I have them all-including the tank truck(Hanomag or semi-track).Maybe I have to get other brands:)
I only had 2 or 3 railgun kits-are there more?

8rad was certainly used on the 4 footer. Not saying this part is from it, though. I dunno.

Not necessarily, tanks like Tamiya's sherman just have some detailing in the turret. I'm updating those threads on the other board with that new pic :) hopefully we can find out what it is fairly soon.

Can you give us a closer look at it. In the current photo it is a bit too far away to tell exactly what it is. Looks like it could be a muffler off of the back of a WWII armoured vehicle, not necessarily a tank. Maybe off a Panzerspahwagen or something. Nice work by the way.

I just plastered this all over FSM, if you have my luck, the peice will probably be one that you had but the one peice that you dropped at sometime or another. :lol

A different angle for ya..
falcon1ana4.jpg

It looks like some kind of exhaust, maybe from a sherman tank? I think the two extensions from either side are the oil filters.
Beautiful work on the Falcon! :eekI'm in awe of the work you've done so far. I can't wait to see more.

Brian

I think it is from a sherman tank but I've never seen oil filters on an exhaust.

From the other forums I've asked on someone says it looks like an oil cooler on a merlin he didn't specify if it was a tank or plane but it was in the aircraft section. Someone else said it looked like a part from a Panzer III.

You know it really is too bad that some people get off on with holding information. :angry

Thanks Zom-could you ask that guy what a Merlin is??Ive seen a Merlin helicopter-maybe thats it?I have many different brands of Panzers-maybe its a brand I havent seen:confused
