Help with a wooden paint job?

Hey guys, I've spent my last few evening creating the crest from heroes and halfwits and for the life of me cannot figure out how to get the colors I want for the wooden backing, I can't post pics with my phone so will leave link below until I can change it

What more specifically are you trying to do? Graining or color matching?

I've made a plastic shotgun stock look like real wood using acrylics and got a similar colour/ graining to the image you posted. Start with a black basecoat and using an old stiff brush scrape burnt umber over the top of it in the direction of the grain. Wait for that to dry or use a hairdryer if you're impatient like me. Then repeat using various shades of brown, don't be afraid to use the same colour more than one. I threw in the odd layer of black but tried to get as much off as possible, this just serves to act as the grain and will get covered in paint.
