It seems like most guys have had success with just a black acrylic wash or two.

I'm trying to get something closer to the attached pics.

The paint I'm using for the "Han panel" is silver. I want it to look more like a dull silver/grey with a matte look.

Maybe an acrylic wash other than black?

Can I "dust" it with something to achieve the look?

thanks

I used model masters gunmetal rub n buff on mine. Spray it on then buff the areas you want to shine ie hands face feet and clothing wrinkles etc. Looks great..... Would show pix but I just sold it.

Thanks....Yeah, from what I understand they offer one that you can buff and one that's a non-buff

Don't you also have to put some kind of finisher on that?

I've pretty much got the color I like, just need to dull it up.

Adding a black acrylic wash will dull the silver, if it doesn't, just seal it with dull coat (Testors).

If you want to try dusting it with something to dull it down, baby powder might do the trick.

I've got a few spray cans of the Testor's dull coat, the hobby shop said to test it first as it may react with the Tamiya spray paint and take off the paint?

Had any experience with this?

I used the Tamiya "TS" line of spray paints

Darthwhitey, I cannot attest to that, I've only used Testors with other Testors product or Krylon.

AdmiralAckbar, you mean the molds for a Han in carbonite? I don't know of anyone who out-right sells molds of this, although you might catch one in the junkyard (when you've been granted access).
If you mean a resin or fiberglass copy, that too can be found off and on in the junkyard.
