HELP!! Struggling with hidden "U" zipper in ASM2 build.

Bought custom by the yard hidden zipper and been struggling getting it installed properly. I'm using a universal hidden zipper foot and that is doing very well, but my belt is not lining up the way it should and the zipper is very difficult to close.

I did stretch the lycra a bit when pinning and sewing, but I'm not sure if that is the cause of the difficultly to move (I know it's caused the misalignment).
Does anyone have tips, pics or even a good video tutorial of installing a U zipper? It would be much appreciated!
