HELP Arm Scaling Issues

Right, basically I am currently in the middle of and Iron Patriot suit build using Jackieisrockin's excellent pepakura files, I have made the helmet, chest and shoulders without any issues but I've ran into a problem when it comes to the arms. To put it simple I just cant seem to get the scaling right, ive made 3 left arms so far and they are all either too short with the gauntlet finishing several inches from my hand or they are too big and bulky and the biceps end up with my arm looking like a noodle dipped inside. I am 5ft 9inches and i'm off slim build so the bulky arms just look ridiculous so any help would be very much appreciated! Thank you in advance :)

What scales have you tried? around 360?

If you're a slimmer build, your bicep isn't going to fit anywhere near snug on your arm when it's scaled correctly. A lot of people also scaled up Jackie's shoulder bells to make the biceps fit better and appear more proportioned on their suits.

350 was the last scale I tried. The bicep fits fine at the moment, its not snug but I was planning on solving that with some padding, the problem is the length, the joint from the bicep which connects the gauntlet starts high up on my arm so the gauntlet ends up 2 - 3 inches away from my hand, ive tried everything I can think of so far to make the gauntlet longer without bulking it out too much. Ideally I need to figure out how to make the bicep longer without increasing the overall size, I just cant seem to figure out how to do it

Also because of wear the joints connect is further up than it should be im unable to have any sort of movement with the arm

That scale sounds small to me for your size (I've built this suit several times). If the larger scale biceps are looking too bulky, it may be because they are flaring out (more rounded than the oval they are supposed to be). You can always put extra supports or cardboard in before resining to make the piece so that it hardens as more of a narrow oval.

With the bicep you have:

You could cut the bicep into two pieces in the section above the joint, and then add a band of paper to lengthen it. Another option is to build a larger scale bicep, and remove a vertical strip of material out of the back to adjust it. I would do the latter, it doesn't muck up your proportions as obviously.

When these suits are modeled, we usually try to make sure they look proportionately correct way before we worry about things like joint mobility and range of motion. Modifications are kind of predictable :)
