Help appreciated

Here is a step by step guide on how to go about creating your ideal Predator head.
First of you have your head, so you're good to go. Attach it to a Lazy Susan or a base of your liking. Once that's sorted choose the clay you want to work with.
WED Clay (Soft, scientifically engineered, water based clay) It comes in large quantities for a fraction of the price of Monster clay. However, it will dry out if not cared for. Sealers should be on hand for example Shellac.
Now here is what I recommend Monster Clay as I am a detail guy just my preference (it does not dry out)
Then there is Chavant NSP Medium ect, what ever your preference is I have worked with Chavant it's good, but I would still go for Monster Clay.

Then I would start by trying to save on your materials, use some foil or anything that can fill large areas of the head. The crown and head especially can be filled with foil so you can save up on monster clay or what ever you choose.
Then go ahead sculpt get a feel for it. Until you have reached this stage there is no worrying about release agents and such (this is in response to your message that you sent me) :) When you get to that point we are all here to help.
Furthermore, heat gun or hair dryers (to soften the clay) should be on hand or an ice pack (especially if you want the clay to harden (oil clay).
1. Choose your clay
2. get a feel for it
3. try bulking out areas such as the head/crown with foil then sculpt over it with clay (this saves money)
4. Have pictures ect and enjoy sculpting time
5. Until you are fully satisfied can you move onto step 6 (Make mandibles ect)
I may have missed a few details out note. I am on my phone took me a while to type this.

Might be too late, but would like to add something. The Duct tape head is most certainly cheap and effective way to have your own personal head cast to sculpt your mask on. I ended up using plaster bandages (couldn't afford alginate here ;P) to get the negative mold for my head then literally used plaster on plaster(quite a big no no in cast making). Spread copious amounts of petroleum jelly of course, and the heat from the plaster itself was enough to make the negative plaster mould 'melt'. I honestly thought my head cast was ruined, but got it out of the negative without any problems. Negative was destroyed of course, but got lucky I guess..

Another great product is Paper Clay (though might be more expensive than Chavant?) It air dries, but you can make it 'soft' again when you rub water/liquid on it. :)
