Not sure if there has been much discussion about this. I haven't found much if so but I am currently saving up for a home 3d printer. Nothing to big like an office rapid prototype machine but something big enough to print helmets, armor pieces....etc. I have researched the material myself and come to a few options/conclusions being the Cube X, Mbot Cube II, Ultimaker, or Airwolf AW3d XL. I am leaning more toward the Mbot Cube II or if I have to save more it will be the Cube X.
Is there anyone out there that can shed some light into maybe something that is less expensive but just as reliable, from what I've read. I know that the Mendel Prusa has one now that is 12'' x 12'' printing area but it requires ALOT of assembly, software downloads and fine tuning to get it started. I have also read some negative reviews about the setup and that it requires a lot of maintenance. Any help would be greatly appreciated cause I have several 3d file models I have modeled myself and I would like to be able to 3d print them myself instead of going through other companies because it will be more cost efficient and awesome to do it myself.
