Helldivers 2 Cosplay

Hey all, I'm relatively new here, but was wondering if y'all had any help for a project I'm fleshing out, I'm making a Helldivers 2 Cosplay of the standard Helldiver, but cannot for the life of my figure out a good jacket, I don't need armor (I've got that handled), but the jacket has those kind of ducktails in the front that come out past the belt, does anyone have a good resource for a similar jacket, or even better a pattern for sewing something like that together?
Thanks!

I am also trying to figure this out, I might do a custom on and just use coveralls as a base undersuit or something but hope someone else has ideas!

Hey I'm super sorry I don't have an answer to your question but where did you find the armor? I've taken a minute and looked around and can't find it anywhere. Well I did find it somewhere but I gotta pay for it. Do you know of somewhere I can get it for free?

All good, unfortunately I have not found a place where the files are available for free, I would recommend galactic armories files because they are the best quality (assuming you are 3d printing), but there are others as well, sorry I can’t help you more.

I dunno if this helps, but for mine (when I eventually get to making my cosplay), I was going to use the McCall's Civil War uniform sewing pattern from their costumes line

Hey Constant! I sourced my jacket from Temu for 14 bucks. I looked around everywhere trying to find something that was both cheap (I knew I would cut it up and modify the heck out of it) and 'tactical' so it would match the references from the game. It worked great and was the correct length, size, etc. So little of the jacket is actually seen: Basically the bottom below the armor and bits between the shoulders and the arm guards. I would just do what works for you as far as cost/availability.

This particular jacket worked well for me. The hood zips off, it has a high collar, and the patches and words on the jacket are easily removed leaving you with a blank canvas to work with. (Jacket Men's Outdoor Leisure Sports Hooded Jacket Spring - Temu)

I also took some artistic license with the jacket and added patches and some details so I could wear just the jacket and the bottom armor bits if I needed to take off the breast plate and cape. This worked so well when I needed a breather from walking around in a crowded and hot convention.

That brings me to the only downside: it was made to be water resistant so not the most breathable fabric around. I had to cut out the lining and sew some air vents into the top and sides. Overall it looks spot on and I was able to source matching pants from Walmart for another 11 bucks.

I'm a complete beginner at sewing, but was able to muddle along and sew all the trim and make modifications needed to pass muster.

When you wear it with the top armor the bottom splays out nicely!

Hope your build goes well!
