Thanks the cylinder is made from discs of MDF all pre drilled before sticking together, I used pvc pipe to make sure I had clean holes for the bullets. More progress pics20130905_214303.jpg20130905_214231.jpg20130905_214139.jpg

Awesome work, Looks great. I too am thinking of making one of these gun props, as well as a big baby one, and was curious what you mad this out of and if you made it to look like it functions, as in does the trigger pull and the hammer move and the cylinder turn? even if it doesn't, its still an amazing build so far.

I'm always amazed at the wonderful things people make out of MDF. This is outstanding work. I've picked up a few sheets of MDF at "Ye Olde Home Despot" last week... I'll have to try my hand at making something like this.

Any caveats or advice for an MDF n00b? ;-)

The plan is to make it so everything functions, the cylinder does turn but i just need to attach it to the front end. I made the catch over the weekend just not going to attach it untill everything else is done so it doesn't get broken.

Thanks for the reply, the only thing i can say really is that i gave all the mdf pieces a coating of super glue as mdf tends to split very easily, you can also sand it down & get a nice smooth finish.

This is freaking awesome!! do you think you could PM me any files or measurements??
also, i'm new and wanting my first build to be the samaritan, but i was curious, can you sand and bevel mdf?

EDIT: just went back to read some more.. i saw that you did say you could sand.. thanks!
