Hell Spawn

Hey back with another!

This is my hellspawn suit its a combination between the movie/comic version of "Spawn" but I don't want to call it Spawn as I didn't intend this to be "Al Simmons" but rather one of Hells army....

Original inspiration come from this model....

For the record I did not do this sculpt it was done by a very talented artist in Brazil.

These were then used to cast the pieces in latex and applied to a base suit and detailed with urethane to create the "demonic" effect and skull casts added to create the body.

Currently green plastic "mesh" is used across the eyes on the mask but once I find a suitable lenses I intend to replace that with a solid green pair and hopefully light them much like in iron man suits to give the eyes a glow....

I really wanted to have the hands clawed so once a latex glove was cast finger nails were added and to create "feet" rather then boots urethane added over a pair of "ninja tabi" boots last but not least leg pouches are just a standard strap with pouches painted red gets the job done and they're functional which is handy for phone/coins/keys :)

Then the whole thing painted and detailed....

I have a "temporary" cloak just to use for a few pictures but its not the final I hope to have a darker red/more definitive collar made up in time when life calms down a bit and I have free time to do so...

I also probably will try to hide the zip on the back of the suit a little better as originally the cowl was going to sit OVER the bodysuit but I decided it held the mask nicely in place if I fit it under the suit....

I've never been a fan of Spawn, but this is awesome. Although you could stand to add some padding to make the arms bigger.

Great Job! I agree that some padding would look better around the arms. And I'm not sure if you know but the back symbol also is an "M" shape like the front.

I do but like I said this isn't specific "Al Simmons Spawn" it was just a generic "Spawn" of my own,

I'm considering padding the arms but they're hard enough to move in at the moment I don't want to restrict movement tooooo much maybe a thin foam or something cowl definitely needs some padding as its a bit big....

Really want to try tackle the cape like this one another member did on their sculpt of the cowl....

I really like this! Always been a spawn fan, it's nice to see you taking your own direction with it. Looking forward to seeing it all finished with the cape.

Just so you know....because of this build I started looking at how to build a Spawn costume. A guy on instructables used a Sprite bottle for the eyes..... :)

This is a really cool build. I'm curious though, what if you had tubes - like hoses sewn into the cape and hooked to an air cartridge. Do you see where i'm going with this? Something to think about, it could be something...GM

Well now.... there's an idea tricky though I'm intending the cape to be really rather large and flowing like in much of the comics so the sheer weight of it alone is going to be an issue unless I can get some kind of fabric like people are using for their TDK cloaks....

Might have to try talking to some of those guys... "Does it come in red?" :)

Still..... geeking out over this.

I'll probably wear this one to London super comic con at the end of February so will hopefully have some better pictures to show for it... Not sure if I'll have the lenses/cloak finished by then though definitely won't have the eyes lighted by then as it took me nearly a week to even get time to suit up and take those few pictures!!

I think his looks better than the movie spawn.

Could you use parchute fabric for the cape? That would be a light weight.

Not sure if its better! DAVIDYR1's movie suit is mind blowing looks like the one out of the movie itself! Appreciated compliments though

Parachute fabric is what I was thinking... Not sure if it could be too light though if you get what I mean needs to hold some shape too so its about finding the balance...

As for chains those will probably be part of the cape!

Also considering drilling out the eyes on the skulls for the shoulders/belt buckle and installing green LEDs what do we think?

Will the eyes be lighted green on this one?

Yes, Once I have tinkered with the lenses and got LEDs installed (Hoping to do this much like Iron man suits) but the electronics haven't started yet still debating where I want all the LEDs...

At the moment thinking eyes of all 3 skulls plus the eyes of the cowl itself not sure wether a row of LEDs like the iron man suits have or trying to use some kind of EL Wire or something might work better... Don't want to entirely block out my vision its hard enough to see out of as it is!
