Hasbro NERF M41-A Pulse Rifle

Got the Hasbro ship notice.
Ontrak still hasn't picked up my Gamestop order yet and it was supposed to be delivered yesterday.

Update.
Ontrack (off track) finally picked it up 2 hours ago so now it's ETA is Thursday an Hasbros is Monday.

Got mine today! It seems a bit heavy for a Nerf gun (which isn't a complaint at all, it feels really solid) and is going to look pretty awesome after a more appropriate paint job. Which I probably will get to someday.

Currently 3D printing some AA -> C battery adapters, because I don't think I've had Cs in the house for like a decade. Wish I'd noticed that little detail sometime in the last year LOL :D

You know, I keep hearing how horribly inaccurate the sounds are. I watched a few videos of some of the unboxings and I thought the firing sounds were pretty darn close. I’m certainly no stranger to Aliens, having watched the movie at least 20 times but I guess you guys are hearing something I’m not.
Finally got mine. I'm with you man, it sounds correct to me. Part of the problem appears to just be a low-res sound file cranked through a janky speaker.

I've got mine opened up while doing mods and paintjob, so I can put the speaker up to my ear. It is actually pretty close, I think the problem is that the original sound effect changes pitch between bursts, while the Nerf sound is a continuous pitch. The shotgun sounds a lot better as it's not competing with the motor.

There may be a sound that is quiet good, in the background when the trigger is pulled, but the whirling noise of the motor sounds like a drunk on the bag pipes which sounds awful..:lol::lol:

OK - Got the battteries in & already lost a dart - Any source tto get extras in the colors this came with?
I guess its somewhere with my missing socs & tupperware lids!

Already lost one here as well lol. Can't help for the color but it uses standard nerf n-strike elite darts and mega darts. I picked up these from Amazon

I might have to buy another one to paint. My wife and I are expecting our first child and I might want to put this one is the baby’s room. Her name is Ripley!

What are you guys using as front and rear sling points on your pulse rifles, if any?

I just made a couple of rings. the one at the front is a triangle and the one at the back is house shaped and slides over the butt. The one at the front was opened up and then pinched back together under the barrel. They are made from 2mm mild steel and painted black.

I used 1" Quick Release Rifle Sling Swivels & Wood Screw Studs for mine. On the 'reverse' side of the rifle, the longer stud was 'glued and screwed' into the back corner of the stock, and the shorter one diagonally into the bottom of the triangular support for the barrels at the front (making very sure not to block the two working barrels). Then I used a standard two-point sling with clips.

Okay, maybe dumb question...

Is there an actual on/off switch somewhere on this thing or do we have to take out the batteries and put them back in to do this? Because I can find nothing in the manual.

If that's the case it's gonna get tiresome.

It shuts off automatically after a few minutes. That had me wondering for a bit also lol :)

Here's my mod:
I squared up the rounded edges of the shroud where it meets the top of the Spas cage, filled the indented top of the mag base, sanded back the protrusion under shotgun barrel and added a few bits and pieces such as the screw on the bottom of the grip, pump screw plate and sling loops and lengthed the bolt. Shroud was painted with SMS Blaster Brown which is claimed to be a colour match with original Brown Bess. Pretty pleased with how it turned out.
