Has anyone ever.... (Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak)

Has anyone ever made like mock up of the invisibility cloak? (picture) that we could maybe get printed onto fabric? Just thought it'd be a neat way to wrap up a gift/ make a display

Maybe we can work it up and get it printed out...I'm trying, but I have like no skills at all with this! So thought I'd see if anyone with more (ie...anything at all) skills wanted to have a go at it

seems to be an orangish/dark green cloth with silver stars, moons, Celtic symbols etc on it

for instance the top left seems to be a rounded version of something like this: http://www.paganlink.org/clipart/insular/celt02.gif

Re: Has anyone ever.... (Harry Potter related)

Or even someone with the ability to make the cloth itself? I dunno...just thinking out loud I guess

i always thought it looked like a crushed velveteen
cause you can get it in something close to the color

the designs would be really hard to figure out
you could try making stencils and lightly spray painting them with silver chrome

Ya I've tried that...didnt work out so well, what I was thinking was if someone with talent was able to make like a photo of it (like just the 'right' colour backround with silver designs all over it - stars, moons, celtic, etc...) then people could have it printed out onto fabric and make their own, or that person could do it and sell them.

Re: Photoshop help? Has anyone ever.... (Harry Potter Invisibility Cloak)

no real interest...alright... I'll just keep working on it then :)

I've never done it myself, but I've heard of people getting fantastic results using a laser cutter to etch the "fuzz" away on velveteen. I guess if you could find a fake velvet that had a light base fabric, then with the correct colour "fuzz" you'd have a good base to work from.

The real problem is finding someone who has spent a fortune on their beautiful precision laser cutter, who is also willing to experiment with all kinds of cool materials to see what can be done!

At the Museum Replicas booth at Comic-Con, they had the Invisibility Cloak. The sign on it said they will be shipping in December.
